Tattered Lace Motorbike

Another mixture of cards today , this one is Tattered Lace. A decorative motorbike which can be used for male or female depending on the colours you use. I made up the wheel in the background with two Spellbinders circle dies to form a frame, then added thin strips of card for spokes.

This is from Sheena's show on this Friday, this was the first card I made, had the idea as soon as I saw the stamps. Looking through a porthole on one of those under the sea trips.
A mixture of Distress inks and silks the the background, the fish were painted with a distress ink mixed with the ice silk. There is a layer of acetate under the frame and several layers of foam pads to give a more 3D look.
Time to tidy the living room , for two reasons, one I have my gorgeous Granddaughter coming round for the afternoon ,reason two the Christmas tree is going up tomorrow.

Fishy Acetate Card

I'm still in the under the sea mood at the moment with more samples from Sheena's new releases to be seen on Friday on Create and Craft.
And after speaking to Sheena this morning I'm actually going to be at Ideal World to help Sheena set up for the show. It will be great to have a catch up, we both have been super busy and our paths didn't  have chance to meet up.
The card above was fun as I hadn't used acetate in quite a while, but it gave me the effect I wanted to create. At the last NEC I brought some lovely new embossing powders from WOW which I used for the seaweed and coral. Loved the look they gave and they were great to use.
The background was made using one of Sheena's embossing folders and then inked with Tumbled Glass Distress ink.
Met up with Nancy Watt last night at Ideal World to pass over my samples for the Tattered Lace show. Had a lovely time playing with these, already put my order in, guess which ones ?

Sorry the photos are a little dark , I didn't have chance to take photos until the evening.
This is one of the candle dies, it comes as a set of two , I'll show the other tomorrow.
Great for Christmas as above but also Baptism, Christening, Weddings etc, the swirl in the centre comes out in one piece, so it could be used as a decoration for another card.
The poinsettia was another set of Tattered dies, Winter floral, the background  is from a Spellbinders die along with the ovals.
It's great to mix and match the different brands of dies, they all have there place in your card making.
Well I'm off to play with some new craft tools from another company, never worked for them before, not saying who.......... So you will have to wait and see.

A Fishy Tail

Here's another card made with Sheena's brand new stamps. These stamps will work well with Sheena's last release and if you watch the shows on Friday at 10 am and 4 pm you will see how the Inkoids have done just that.
These fish stamps have become one of the mot useful stamps in the set , to see why keep an eye on Donna's and my blog in th next few days. We both had the same train of thought.
The seaweed and coral on this card were both stamped itch the new Luminarte Silks, I apply the silks with a piece of cut and dry to make sure I don't add to much. The stamps easily clean with baby wipes or a damp cloth. The fish I painted with Spiced Marmalade and Barn Door Distress ink mixed with the ice Silk to give them a real shimmer.
Tattered Lace tomorrow so time to make a few more samples before I deliver to Ideal Wold.

Seahorse and Bubbles

Well just a short post to let you know Sheena will be back on our screens on Friday 13th December. There are two shows 10am and 4pm on Create and Craft.
The stamps are very much have an under the sea theme, but don't think that's all you can do with them. I've made a couple of cards which will be shown in future posts that are no way related to water in anyway. So please check back to see more.
This card was made very simply with Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans Distress ink, Versafine Onyx black, clear and crystal sparkle embossing powder and some scrap paper to mask off the top and bottom of the card.
Off to make some more samples for Tattered Lace , who are on Create and Craft on Wednesday, yes they are brand new dies, some of which I'm definitely buying.

Spiral flower from EK Success

A couple more cards from the EK success POD on Ideal World, thought this one would be great for an invitation.
I stamped one of the larger images from the set out and embossed in silver. Punched out the centre design, and then cut around and also in half. After embossing in silver three of the spiral flowers, I cut them down to build the layers of the flower.
The background was embossed using an A4 folder from Crafters Companion.
To mount up the embossed background was added to the card base using 3D foam. The triangular piece then placed in the corner and the spiral flower on top.

This was really quick to do, just embossed the spiral flower several times in white embossing powder. Then apply Distress ink over the top, which means it could have been any colour or multicoloured.
Repeat on another piece of card ,one image this time, then use the punch in the set to cut out. To lift the flower away from the background, punch another flower just out of white card and mount below the coloured one.
Adding a few pearls to the centre of the flowers and a greeting, which was stamped on a label die shape from Spellbinders.

Here's Mia trying out her new car seat.
Oh and the latest news is she is now crawling, which is what her mother never really bothered with.

Valentine's cards

Here are a couple more cards I made using the EK Success new punch and stamp sets. I thought these two would be good for Valentines Day. For the first I used Flitterglu and Megaflakes for the main image, all the fine detail can still be seen.

A lot more happening on this card, once started I didn't quite know when to stop. I don't think it's too over the top though.
The Be Mine stamp was stamped in black over the pink and white heart paper and then punched out and added  to the other stamped background. The flower was made of the small hearts, then centre was borrowed from one of the other kits.
The hearts in the background are of course Spellbinders, the foliage is a Tattered Lace die.
Hope you like them, right I'm off to see my Granddaughter.

Butterfly and Flowers

It's been quite funny this morning as I didn't know which side to watch on TV, Create and Craft with MCS Nancy or Ideal World with Mel doing EK Success. I've been lucky to be asked to do samples for both. The MCS ones were using the antique alphabet stamps, which sold out very quickly  but as I'd used the Lacy Daisy die they were still useful.

On this card I also used one of the banner dies strung on some embroidery thread. The flowers I built up using both the solid and the lacy part of the die set. There was a bit of Spellbinders at the base of the flowers in the form of the scalloped circles. Cannot do without Spellbinders completely, they keep popping up somewhere on my cards.

Here's card from the other side, the lacy butterfly. I don't use punches a lot in general but really enjoyed using these. I think the fact that the stamps and punches match was part of it. The stamps give a really good image even with the amount of fine detail on them.
For this card I stamped  the base in black ink and punch out the butterfly in the centre. To give it a slightly different look, I stamped and punched out the butterfly from one of the other stamps in the set  and added it to the aperture.
Spellbinders again for the frame and an embossing folder from Couture Creations for the card base.
Don't know when to start my Christmas cards at this rate it will be Christmas Eve, so it's busy busy busy for me.
Sheena will be on again soon with some lovely new stamps, definitely not Christmas, and some more lovely dies with Tattered Lace I'm in my element as they say around here. Oh and from Ideal World........... Sorry can say no more.
Happy Crafting.

She sells seashells........

Back to cards made for Sheena's TV shows, this one was made using the Ice silk as a resist for the Peacock Feathers Distress ink. Very easy but effective, I used a piece of cut and dry foam to apply the silk to the stamp, that way I made sure I applied the right amount. After stamping and drying I applied the ink, the silks resist the ink but also have a shimmery look. The shells were just stamped and embossed in black, then after cutting out I added a little of the ice silk to give them a shimmer.

The idea for this card started with a free gift from a magazine, the Kraft card tags. The shells were stamped in black, but to paint them I mixed the ice silk with Distress inks. This gave me the colour but also a shimmer.
The background is Brushed Corduroy over stamped with the wording, then I embossed a piece of card with one of Sheena's folders and went over it with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. Layered it up and added some wording.
Nearly finished one of my projects which will be on TV next week, another to collect tomorrow  and one to follow very soon, so busy busy busy.
First though Christmas shopping in Manchester with my husband and daughter.

Raspberry and chocolate cupcakes ?

Morning, hope everybody is having a good one.
Just having a coffee while writing this blog before heading to the studio.
Yesterday's delivery was a bit of a surprise , so I have had to get my thinking cap on. I do like a challenge, to think outside the box.
Today's cards were made using the new Tattered lace dies, this was the large single cupcake.
The cake was cut in pink card then again in white. Using just the frosting from the white, it was overlaid on the pink, slightly off centre, to give the look of a swirl of pink and white frosting.
Feeling hungry ?
For the background I cut the corner die twice, these dies will leave the piece in the cardstock unless you use the border strip.

To finish the card I used the Lacy Daisies and the Bows along with the pin dies. These are handy as there cannot be any pricked fingers as with the real hat pins.

A vintage look this time with a chocolate cupcake, the frosting is white card coloured with Walnut Stain Distress ink. gold mirror card for the cake case and the doily.
Well, those samples won't make themselves , so time to stop .

Lacy Daisy wedding cake.

Another sample card made with the 3 tiered cake die using jut silver mirror and white card.
I also used the lacy daisy, foliage and one of the borders. A little bit of Spellbinders in the use of one of the D-Lites for the wording plaque.
A Dazzler, satin ribbon and a couple of crystal hat pins to finish.
Waiting for my next two commissions to arrive, can't wait to see what they are!
All I know is they both will be on TV at some point, so I will blog them as soon as I can.

                                                Happy Crafting.

Three tiered cake with Tattered Lace

Different sort of day for me today, I had my Granddaughter to look after for the afternoon. Back to changing nappies again after 18years and entertaining a 6 month old. A very different weekend to normal especially in craft show season. Looking forward to more of these visits but need to buy all the eqipment again, already brought a travelcot. Little Mia is already fast asleep in it.
The card above is another from the Tattered Lace POD, the wedding cake this time.
The cake layers were die-cut in gold mirror board and backed with some red card the cut out. The columns between the tiers came from the waste from the large cupcake cut in half.
The flowers were made using a small Woodward punch, adding a small pearl to the centres.
For the embossed background I used an A4 folder from Crafters Companion. To finish the corners came from cutting up the decorative square border from the wedding cake die.
Here's another wedding cake card.

A simple card this time, all in white but with a navy blue crushed ribbon bow.
The background was embossed using a Creative Expressions folder.
Busy week ahead with sample making, but at the weekend we will be off to Manchester, Christmas shopping.
Happy Crafting.

Birthday Cupcake

Hope everybody was watching last night, I see the new bow sold out very quickly along with the bunting. Being a lapsed scrap booker I can see how the bunting would be very useful on my pages, and will be when I get round to doing some more. Saying that they are still a useful size for cards.
Today's card is using the larger cupcake, just think of the combinations you could have here with all the different toppings you can have on them. So that will be glitter and gems needed.
The die can be cut part, the base could be a vase for flowers, fruit etc.there is also a swirl in the frosting which would normally be thrown away. This can be added to the base to make a cup.
If I've got time I will have to play some more with these dies, cupcakes for birthday cards next year then.
The papers I used were from Lili of the Valley, I love these paperpads, only a few more to collect but by the start of the show season I shall probably need to replace a few........lol.
Starting to plan for next year, need to fill my diary, somethings I can't  they usually start with an unexpected phonecall.
Hopefully my husband and I will be going on holiday during the summer, where to go, that's another project to plan. Dreaming of a summer holiday is not getting any work done, so I better stop now..........Happy Crafting.

Let's eat cake

But these are Tattered Lace cakes, POD tonight on Ideal World, beginning at 9pm.
Great for birthdays , weddings and anniversaries, whatever the occasion where cake is eaten.
Looking forward to seeing what the other design team members have done.

Love how the light is catching the mirror card in the background.
Along with all the Tattered Lace dies , I used a Spellbinders for the background, and a Crafters Companion A4 embossing folder.
I've used 5 different sets of dies for this card, 3 are brand new, which are launched tonight. One of them you will have to look for , it is not that obvious but a vital piece to this card.
Must go now off to club tonight , it's been a while since I've had chance to go.
Happy Crafting.

Today's the Day

In less than an hour Sheena will be showing her new stamps and a brand new product. I've not long been back from dropping the samples of at Peterborough, Sheena is there safe and sound, ready to work her magic.
Today's card is my favourite card of this batch, not quite certain where the inspiration came from, could be something to do with all the seaside holidays as a child. The shops near the front selling all the shell jewellery.
The new product works very well with Distress Ink, so I'm happy.
Will spend the afternoon making samples for the Tattered Lace show, ideas flowing already plus watching Sheena of course.
So for now Happy Crafting.

Sheena's Costal Stamps

Sheena's back on Create and Craft tomorrow with some new stamps and paints. I'm not going to let too  much out of the bag until after the show. All I'm going to say, is I have been having fun with these new paints especially one in particular and the effects it can give.
Now I have finished these samples I'm on to the next ........Tattered Lace ........ to be launched on Tuesday at 9pm on Ideal World, so that's two visits to Peterborough in less than a week.
So until tomorrow here is a sample from Sheena's show, hope you like it and
Happy Crafting.

NEC Tomorrow

Well the stand is now ready for the first day of the show at the NEC and tomorrow is early start as the show opens at 9am not 9.30am, news to us......

Lisa's demo table.

A view of both demo tables
We are definitely in the Christmas mood, with all the tinsel and snowflakes on the stand including the stamps we will be demoing. Lisa is showing the Chocolate Baroque and I will be doing my friend's ,that is Jayne Nestorenko. I'm a happy girl, I get to play with trees and leaves and some WOW embossing powder.
First thing tomorrow I have cards to deliver, will show samples very soon, I've been playing with some different products from my usual range, good to experiment.

Love this card, well it has a dragonfly on it, which many of you will know is my business symbol.
I had to have this Tattered Lace die, I have a good few of the others but this is my favourite.
Well here's hoping we have a busy day tomorrow.

Sorry for the break

Been a bit busy here, well that's my excuse.
Glasgow was great, had a lovely time meeting up with some of our regular customers, I mean friends, Andy, Angela, Nadia , Karen and Ruth to name but a few. Then to also make some new ones, even fellow exhibitors, travel all the way to Glasgow to meet two guys who live only 14 miles from me.
Also brought something which could be a new hobby, will show later , I mean later, might have a play over Christmas.
Kay and I were suppose to be at Lincoln but because of a poorly van we didn't make it, so needing crafting retail went to Colemans warehouse . So handy having this crafters heaven on my doorstep.
Hope the show went well as this was the last Sincerely Yours show for this year, looking forward to next years season already.
Well there's only one more show to go for me this year and that's the NEC, I will be demonstrating for J & C Creations, so please come and say Hi. I will be demonstrating some of Jayne Nestorenko's gorgeous stamps, and Lisa will be showing how to use the new Chocolate Baroque ones.
Depending on signal, I'll post some photos from the show and some more samples made using Jayne's stamps.

There are a few Tattered Lace cards left to show you that were on the last POD, so I'll post two today..........

Cannot believe that for timing, the postman has just arrived with the next collection of dies from Stephanie. They are lovely, can't wait to play, so many ideas in my head, need to get the cards made.
But first, sausage rolls to make, otherwise I'll have an unhappy Kay. Then a card making session, a few more samples needed for the NEC and then a visit to the next town to get my nails done.
Tonight another crafting session and packing my crafting tools up so I'm ready to leave tomorrow, after the rush hour, luckily I don't live to far away.

So I better get on, hopefully I'll do tomorrow's post after we have set up, so for now.....

Tattered lace fan

It's rush, rush, rush at the moment as I'm off to Glasgow tomorrow for the Hobbycraft show at the SECC. So if your going please call by and say Hi, I will be demonstrating stamps from Jayne Nestorenko and Chocolate Baroque.
Really must get in the Christmas mood as a lot of these stamps are Christmas based.
Had a great time at North Petherton, otherwise know as the Taunton show, shame about the weather but at least it was dry for breakdown. The day before Kay and I had a lovely day shopping in Taunton and that the Monkton Elm garden centre with Debbie and Gail. I did pick up a few Christmas presents but still have quite a few more to buy.
Today card is another from the Tattered Lace POD, the Chantilly Rose die. It looks like a rose banner  but I cut up the individual pieces to build up the fan. The rose piece on it one I glued and glittered with a Quickie glue on and crystal glitter. I also dotted around each piece with a white pen.
The papers were from a 8x8 pad from Lili of the Valley called Antebellum.
Most go now ......... What to do first ..........

Black and White Lace Box

What a day it has been, had a great time helping Kay with her Hougie workshop in Exeter. There was a whole group of lovely ladies, some of who were Hougie virgins as we call them, 6 projects later they were no longer that.
Tomorrow is set up  day at the new venue for Taunton, Venue @ 24 , North Petherton, the morning will give us a  chance to go shopping in Taunton, may get some Christmas presents who knows.
Well it's not a card tonight but a box, made  on Hougie of course. The decoration was made with some of the new Tattered Lace dies that were in the Pick of the Day, plus some of the flowers from a while ago.

Tattered Lace on Tonight

Just spent a very busy day at Stephanie Weightman's  playing......sorry working . Some of the new dies I only saw today , well I want , need, want must send order into Zoe tomorrow. They were gorgeous, very much up my street  as people say round here. I can see me using them virtually every day.
Oh  and I got to see the designs for the next release, ideas are already busy round my head.
I need to play some more tonight as I am off to Exeter tomorrow with Kay. Seem to be spending a lot     of time in the part of the country recently.......
Although I posted one of the cards from tonight's POD on Facebook I didn't put it on my blog, so I'll do that tonight plus a new one.
Last nights

This was made using dies from the POD and the winter florals, the papers are MCS but from some time ago.
Tonight's card

See if you can see where this fish comes from if you watch tonight's show on Ideal World at 9pm or look on the Tatttered Lace website.
Will explain how to tomorrow !

More D-Lites samples

I loved the effect of using the wrought iron railings as a bridge on a card , so I had to make another one. The background was made with a Couture Creations folder which along with the stamp can be purchased from Creative Expressions. As well as the D-Lites I added one of the Label dies from my stash, the thing is with Spellbinders all their dies mix and match so well together.

Same flower as the previous one here , just to show how they look in different colours.
The background was made with another folder from Couture Creations with Coredinations cardstock, after embossing I sanded it back.
Going to be busy for the next few days as I'm off to Taunton to help on another of Kay's (Hougie) workshops on Friday. Sunday there is a Sincerely Yours show at North Petherton. A new venue for the show it is just off the M5 Jnt 24.
Then on Tuesday I leave for Glasgow for the show at the SECC , really love this show and I will be demoing for the four days. I will let you know what at the weekend.
So Happy Crafting friends.

D-Lite windows

Windows today, but for this card I used a die-cut as a stencil and inked through Distress inks.
Cut out two of the wrought iron railings, they join together very easily.
I used the twigs from the holly set  and cut some leaves from the sprigs for the branch.

For this window I cut off the fan light off one die-cut, then cut another window but just to use the ledge part.
For the background I used a Couture Creations folder and then inked the edge with Tumbled Glass.
To finish the card I added a variety of the flowers and some sprigs of leaves.

Medallion Nine

Two more Spellbinders cards here, playing with Medallion Nine. There is in fact three different dies used on this card from the new D-Lites range. I cut two of the medallions, twisting the top one slightly round before attaching. Then adding one of the blossoms on top , with a gem for the centre.
Two sprigs of foliage, one for each side of the flower. The background was made using a folder from Couture Creations, then I inked  around the edge with Distress ink.

This card the two other ways you can use this set of dies, the first is just to cut the filigree section out, which I did twice in this panel. The other way is just to cut the blank piece, which I did after attaching some double-sided adhesive to it. After removing the backing I covered it with the new glitter from Creative Expressions. I then stamped over the top with Stazon.
The background behind then panel was made by attaching pieces of the medallion cut into pieces but cut I the same cardstock as the base card. This makes it look like it has been embossed.

Two styles of Christmas Wreaths

Back to Spellbinders today, more of the new D-Lites, launched recently on Create and Craft.
This is the wreath cut out of craft metal, gold for the wreath  and silver for the bow. The berries were made with a red Stickles. Down the left-hand side I added holly leaves from another die, again in silver and gold. To keep the shape they were attached with Pinflair glue.

A quick card this, and the papers were from a paper pad which was free from a magazine. I layered the papers up  and added a die-cut wreath to frame the picture of Santa Claus.
Ok back to work, loving these new Tattered Lace dies, can't wait to show you some samples. Lots more ideas to work through before Wednesday.
Happy Crafting .

Love Music

Photo not up to my usual standard here, never mind, I'll post two cards again to make up for it.
I thought this card would be good for those taking music exams, a classic black and white card so it doesn't matter if it is for a boy or girl.

The background of this card I made with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink, stencilled through the die-cut musical flourish and the lid of the piano.
The wording for both was die-cut using the Deco Alphabet.

Tattered Lace for Men

I feeling generous at the moment so here are two more cards made the the Hat and Cane set of dies from Tattered Lace.
The first is made with 6 of the dies and there are still more in this set, great value here. Covers a lot of cards for those males in our life, but also very useful for those steam punk style cards and 3D projects. The card was very easy to make, just die-cut the shapes and attach to cream card a little larger than the die-cut. Add some faux stitching around the edge of each piece. Placement of the the pieces , is up to you I just played around until I was happy. I used the Deco alphabet to do the wording, then drew around the edge of the whole card to frame the piece.

This card was very simple indeed, tear two pieces of copy paper for a wavy edge . Lay them on the card to give a gap in the middle, then ink over with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass . Die-cut three planes in black card, then stick them down in formation. The Happy Birthday was again made using the Deco Alphabet, cut out of the same black card.
I was very excited this morning the new Tattered Lace dies arrived, you may have seen a few samples on Stephanie Weightman's Facebook page. It is now my turn to play with these very pretty dies, so goodbye for now I'm off to play..........

Cascading Circles

Two cards today using Tattered Lace dies from the Music of the Night range, saying that this card has a flower from the Sentiment floral set.
The background paper is from a paper pad from Lili of the Valley called Antebellum, I really love the papers in this pad you may see more of them on future cards.
I cut the Cascading Circle in both green and pink, to be able to cut the individual flowers in pink and lay them over the green piece. The centre flower I made up using the same cardstock and edged the petals with Victorian Velvet Distress ink.
The wording was made using the Alphabet Deco and the same cardstock and ink. To add detail round the edge of the card I did some faux stitching.

Another version of the Cascading Circle here, just cut out of white card. Again I cut it twice , to give it a 3D look and also to expand the end of the swirl.
The background was a blend of two Distress inks, over which I flicked some water and then blotted off. Then added some Black Soot around the edge to frame the piece. I used the alphabet again for the wording.
May have post two again tomorrow to play catch up  as there more coming soon.
