Good Luck card

Just a quick post today as I will soon be setting up at the Sincerely Yours Biggin Hill  show, looking forward to meeting up with my other family.
Had an enjoyable meal last night with Denise, Julie, Charlotte ( J & C Creations ) and of course Kay at The Pippin. There was much laughter  and no we were all sober........
This card I made for Sheena's last show on Create and Craft, a jumble of books and scrolls. Would be great for those taking exams. Of course there was a lot of fussy cutting it wouldn't be one of my cards otherwise. I stamped on  some pages from an old book then cut them out, have to recycle where we can.
Right, time to go. If I have time I'll post tomorrow

Jayne and Sheena Today

As mentioned yesterday this is the card I had fun with the accessory stamp found on the mask plate from Jayne Nestorenko.
The background was made using Distress ink, then stamped over using Jet Black Archivsl, The flourish stamp you can match up because it is clear, to form the design you can see above .The border was made using a Martha Stewart punch, which I threaded some organza ribbon through.

Here's an extra card for you,........
This is a card I made for Sheena's last show, another mystical card.
As there were H2Os on the show I played with an old technique of painting direct onto the stamp.
This time I used the iridescent type as they show well on black card, you see the colour of the mica.
The owl I embossed in True white and cut out.
Well I shall soon be leaving for Kay's to then head off for Kent. But first lunch and watch Lily of the Valley on Create and Craft.
Happy Days and Happy Crafting.

Butterflies and Mask

In the pink today, the favourite of many crafters I know. What's yours, I prefer teal or Aqua.
The mask and butterflies I coloured with Copics after stamping and embossing in black.
The frame is a Tattered Lace die, Interlocking die For You. The lattice panel is a Memory Box die, it looks the the butterflies have landed on it for a rest. The flourish at the bottom is another stamp of the same plate as the masks. I stamped it twice , nearly matching but tomorrow's card is better. Had some fun with this flourish and the butterfly.
Hopefully I'll be leaving at lunchtime tomorrow, I know Kay's had a slight hiccup, not saying what but hopefully it will be sorted soon. It's so much fun working in this business, you never know what is going to happen next........

Venice and the Orient

From black and white yesterday, to gold and white today, different mask this time. I also used another of Jayne's stamps the Rialto Bridge.
The main structure of the card is a theatre card design, all instructions for which are in Hougie Book Two. The front panel I embossed with a folder from Couture Creations called Intrinsic, the side panels were decorated with a border die from Tattered Lace called Victorian border.
The swirl is a Marianne die, the flowers were from my stash( actually a pressie from Sue Wilson)
All the stamped images were embossed with Gold embossing powder.
I added some glitter from Glitter Magic ( no33) just to give the mask some extra sparkle.
I still have a couple more cards to show you made with stamps from Jayne Nestorenko but..........

Here's an extra from the last Tattered Lace show using the Oriental Lady and a die from a previous show .
I'm off to make samples now, not long until are first show after the summer break. Biggin Hill a Sinserely Yours show is on the 1st September. However before that Kay Rutter has a workshop in Maidstone on the Friday 30th August. If you are interested please go to the link on my blog for details.

Masks in Black and White

This was the first card I made with Jayne Nestorenko's new stamps. I stuck with black and white because I didn't have to many other colours with me, as I was in a hotel room at that time. I had taken the stamps which had just arrived, with me to a show as there is usually some time in the evening to play.
The pendant style stamp is supposed to be part of the mask as in my black, red and gold card but I decided to have a play with it and found you could make a border by stamping it in opposite directions.
The masks were stamped, cut out and glittered, the three diamond section I stamped again and glittered adding foam pads to the back before attaching.
The rhinestone swirl, vintage ribbon, and decorative pins were from Creative Expressions, the metal flower from Hobby House.
Still aching from all the walking yesterday, so I've decided on an early night tonight then an early start tomorrow, to complete the list of cards I have to do.
Happy Crafting.

Violet and Rose

A different mask this time from Jayne Nestorenko's  stamp plate coloured with Copics. I've used some Spellbinders for the matting and layering , an A4 embossing folder from Sue Wilson. The swirls are a Tattered Lace Rose Corner, the flowers are Tonic. The rose was made with a stamp from the Button Floral stamp sheet by Sam Poole.
Fun day today in Skegness, birthday treat, I know I'm easily pleased. I did manage to visit  the new craft shop there, the Crafting Lounge, not far from Morrisons or the train station. Great shop ,loads of room, lovely size workshop area. I will be visiting again very soon I hope, now I know where it is .....
Full day of crafting tomorrow, lots to do before I leave for Kent.

Masks and Flowers

A mixture of two crafting companies here , the mask is the same as yesterday's one from Jayne Nestorenko and the mask is a Tattered lace one. It was a complete surprise that the dimensions were perfect , the eyes fitted exactly. I actually draw in the eyes with Copics, I was quite chuffed with these. The flowers and leaves were all Spellbinders dies.

Here's an extra card just because it's Saturday ......., another Tattered Lace one, using the Ginger Jar and Chrysanthemum corner.
Both the die-cuts have been inked in black and embossed with clear embossing powder. The Ginger Jar I laid over some gold card and cut out. As with all dies don't be afraid to cut them up, as you can see I have got those scissors out so I could place the flowers and greenery where I wanted.
The background was embossed using one of those cake stencils MCS do, I don't have time to make cakes but I will use some of the cake making tools for crafting .......

Jayne Nestorenko's Masks

What's the plan for today ? Had a nice lie in, opened presents. Yep it's my birthday today. I have the house to myself until later this afternoon but I plan to go out and enjoy this sunshine.
Having lunch with the younger of my two daughters and then going to see my gorgeous Granddaughter and her mum.
Will go and see my Mum and Dad as well, I think that's most of the family covered.
Looking forward to the weekend , going to the coast on Sunday, hope the weathers ok.
Today's card is one I made for Jayne Nestorenko, for the launch of some new stamps which are now on her website. You may have seen them at Stonely Park earlier this month.
If you love these stamps  as much as I do then there is a link to Jayne's website on the side of my blog.

Very dramatic card this, in gold, red and black. Painted with H2Os and with the use of Spellbinders for the mats and the flowers. The swirl is a Marianne and the leaves are from Joy. The embossing folder is an A4 folder from Creative Expressions, Sue Wilson design.
I have several more samples showing the different stamps on the plate, and different ways to use them. They mix very well with some of Jayne's  other stamps already on the site, as well as some Tattered lace dies. Handy that, I do have several........
That's all for today, I'm off to enjoy the sunshine.
Happy Crafting.

Stamps are flying

Well we did say they were magical, if I've lost anybody, I'm talking about Sheena's new stamps.
It was a shame that not all the samples were shown but the stamps flew anyway. I'm sure the other Inkoids will have their samples on their blogs and Sheena has a gallery on hers.

A shaped card this time, almost a tag shape. Plenty of fussy cutting to build up the branches of the tree. Painted with H2Os to give a shimmer . The guy looks lost in thought after reading a good book. I think it would be a good card for those hard to please teenagers, early twenties.
Still have a few more cards from this show to post, so roll on tomorrow.
Do have another reason for saying that, my friends will know why, busy day tomorrow.
Happy Crafting.

Last Sneak Peek

Sheena's on at 9am tomorrow, hope everybody will be sitting comfortably tomorrow morning ready to watch. A bit of Harry Potter before hand to get you in the mood or even Lord of the Rings lol
Hope everybody will love these stamps as much as the Inkoids have done, if  you would like to see more samples from the Team check out Sheena's blog.

A simple black and white card here but it shows off all the stamps from one set.
I'll post the other cards after the show.
Happy Crafting.

3rd Sneak Peak

It's magic............only used three stamps to create this card.
Water coloured the back of the Centura Pearl with Distress Inks, then stamped with a Jet Black Archival.
Repeated the water colouring on another piece of card, stamped the leafy branch a couple of times and then cut them out. Adding them to the edge of the card once I had finished doing the matting and layering.
The highlights were added using a white inkessentials pen.
Sheena's on tomorrow on Create and Craft, I think the times are 9am and 4pm. So if your in the mood for all things magical or you just love Sheena's stamps tune in.
As the show is so close I'll post another card later today.
Happy Crafting 'till then.

2nd Sneak Peak

Anyone for a glass of wine ? Somebody, mentioning no names introduced me to red wine, never liked it before, must have been the wrong blend of grapes lol
Back to the card, I used Distress Inks to watercolour and a lot of fussy cutting again. The gold decoration on the stem was actually stamped on acetate and embossed using gold embossing powder. Then cut out and overlaid on to the the image stamped in Stazon on the card.
The Distress inks were Weathered Wood, Peeled Paint and Barn Door.

Sheena's Magical Stamps

Just a sneak peak tonight , the stamps are from a new range from Sheena. These will be launched on Create and Craft on Thursday 22nd August, A Little Bit Magical. You all knew of Sheena's love of Harry Potter lol.
The card I made using Distress inks and H2Os and plenty of fussy cutting.
Tune in to watch Sheena play........ With these different mediums. I expect there will be plenty of new techniques and very inky fingers.
I'll post some more samples in the next few days on the run up to the shows.
Happy Crafting.

Time is Precious

It is when your on a deadline, especially trying to finish cards for a TV show. I have no rush deadline at the moment but who knows when the next phonecall will be. I find time is also precious now I have a Granddaughter, she is growing so fast, 3 months already.
Today's card uses the storks and the Wafer. The Wafer is  a stencil and a mask, both  positive and the negative parts. I used both for this, to mask off for the sun and clouds and then the stencil for the hills. The Distress inks I used were Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain for the bullrushes.
The storks I embossed in True White embossing powder and then coloured their beaks with Copics.
The other foliage came from the Chrystanthamum  corner and the bluebirds die.
Back to sample making, playing with Jayne Nestorenko's lovely stamps today. Cards will be on show later in the year.

Oriental Butterfly

A card using a different colour palette from my usual range. The reason being I started with the paper, then chose some colours of Copics to match.
I coloured the butterfly after die-cutting and then sprayed with adhesive and covered with crystal glitter.
The flowers were from the winter florals set  but coloured blue instead of the usual red, I also added a swirl, which is from the rose corner.
It's fun to experiment with colour and do something different.
Happy Crafting.

Ginger Jar

Traditional blue and white here, the jar once die-cut was coloured with Copics then embossed with clear embossing powder. The backing mount was made by just embossing the Ornamental Rectangle into some smooth white card. The Chrysanthemum corner was coloured with the same colour Copics as the jar. Even the ribbon and the edge of the card were coloured with them, to keep to the same colour tones. The gem in the centre of the bow came from Hobby House.

Second post today !

Here is my first sample made with the new Tattered Lace dies,
The dragon was die-cut and then embossed with a red glitter embossing powder, the same with the flowers but in gold.
The back ground was actually embossed using one of the cake decorating stencils, don't think I'll ever use it in the way it's supposed to be used. They do make good stencils for crafting though.
Off to see the Granddaughter tomorrow, so more photos to be taken.
Happy Crafting for the second time.

Circles and Squares

S4-415 Delightful Circles
S5-202 Scalloped Borders Two
S5-187 LabelsThirty-Three
Sorry for the break only been quite busy with Stonely Park and then a Tattered Lace POD to complete.
I thought I'd finish showing you the Spellbinders samples I made for the CHA event.
The first one was made using Bazzill card stock using bright colours. The second largest die I cut three times and then scored on my Hougie board . Cut down one score line to the centre then concertina the piece and join the the other pieces which I'd done the same way.
S4-414 Captivating Squares
This card was made with my favourite technique at the moment, using double-sided adhesive sheets and glitter, not glitter card as said on TV. The bottom layer of the design is completely flat, I cut the largest layer of the Captivating Squares out of release paper and laid it on the adhesive sheet .this masked off an area then covered the whole piece in Crystal glitter. After shaking off the excess I removed the mask then added black glitter.
If I have chance today I'll post my first Tattered Lace card from Today's POD.

Stonely Park Tomorrow

Really looking forward to tomorrow, Ok we've got to set the stand up but I 'm looking forward to seeing my other family. When we have a run of shows meaning nearly every weekend, I probably see more of the other stand holders than I do my family. So most of us on the show circuit know each other fairly well. So it will be catch up on all the gossip, after the work is done of course......
I'm going to be helping Sharon on the Glitter Magic stand C10  this time and we have a really nice next door neighbour my friend Jayne Nestorenko. So please call by and say hello if your going to the show.

Here are two more cards made with the Cut, Fold and Tuck dies with a couple of the other dies that were also on the same show.
S5-195 Whirl About
S4-407 Labels Thirty-Two
S4-414 Captivating Squares
Off to see my Granddaughter today, I wonder how much she has changed in a week.

Two cards today

This first card was very easy to make,  all the layers  were cut out of Snow White Centura Pearl.
Sorry about the photo it looks a pale blue but it really was a pearlescent white, so was the ribbon.
With this die not all of them cut out a complete shape, you have to use the larger or smaller depending on what you want to do.
However with one layer which just cuts the pattern I decided to just emboss it and build the other layers around it.
This would make another lovely wedding card, add a ribbon to match the wedding colour theme if you know it.

S5-189 Majestic Labels Twenty-Five

The. Second one is similar in the fact it's quick and involves just layering. The difference is I inked the card after cutting and embossing, leaving it in the die whilst inking as this gives a white edge.
I  also used the aperture with this one ,the piece you normally throw away. Adding a bit of sparkle to this layer with a Quicky glue pen and glitter. It was easy to be even  as I followed the embossed line around, which had been made when the card had been die-cut.

The corners were cut from the previous die, clue here why I put these two cards on together.
I forgot to say I embossed the top layer with one of Sue Wilson's A4 folders and the Distress ink was Victorian Velvet.

For Your Special Day

                          EL-034 Decorative Fancy Tags Two
                          S5-187 Labels Thirty-Three

To make this card I embossed a piece of white card then cut out just the centre tag design. For the base design I inked the folder with a Perfect Medium , then place in the card and embossed. Once through the Calibur I added silver embossing powder to the debossed side as this is where the ink had
been transferred to. After melting the powder I used Peacock Feathers Distress ink over the top, this really makes the embossing powder pop. Using a corner rounded then slicing the card into three I attached the sections to a base card with foam pads.
The greeting was stamped on a Labels Thirty-Three die-cut piece, after it had been inked with the die in place, to give it a white edge.
To finish I added some crushed ribbon, a Dazzler, and decorative pins.
Good day work wise today, had a meeting which I will let you know about soon and I'm happy to say I will be going to SECC Glasgow, can't wait.
Sample making all day tomorrow, plenty of things to do.
Happy Crafting.

The New Lace'

S5-196 Folded Lace
S4-414 Captivating Squares

Do you remember the days when we cut the card using templates and a craft knife to give us the Lace' effect ? I could never quite cut it all , so had to use the knife on parts of it after removing the template. Life is now easier with the new cut, fold and tuck dies from Spellbinders. This is the second release  of this type of die and I really like these ones.
For this card I use some paper from my stash which was pattern one side and a creamy white on the other. The base of the topper I cut using the largest die from the Captivating Squares but used the cream side. Then cut the two layers from the Folded Lace in grey paper, after folding and tucking mounted them on the base. The greeting I stamped on to the smallest die cut piece of the Squares.
The crushed ribbon and Dazzler came from Creative Expressions.
This card is not as fiddley as it looks, just take your time when folding and tucking because the paper or card may tear.

The missing Card

While watching Create and Craft the Spellbinders show I realised that one of my cards is missing, it was there during the early shows, I wonder where it's gone. Perhaps it had enough of the Celtic knot card having all the glory..... Or it was left behind as the others were moved around to different areas of the studio. Hope it's not feeling lonely being left in a box somewhere......
Well until it reappears, here it is in it's full glory......

E3D-009 Floral Labels Four

With this card it was simply done but with all that detail you don't need much.
I embossed some white card then used the pretty coloured waxes from Creative Expressions to define different areas of the embossing. This really shows the different levels of the embossing.
I stamped the wording straight onto the embossed card but if you have Labels Four you could cut a topper to fit over, safer if your not keen on stamping.
I have some work to do but first I'm going out to enjoy this sunshine.
Happy crafting
