For the dressmaker

Just a quick post today as I'm still at Westpoint Exeter for the ICHF show. One more day to go  but I've had a great time, especially today as I got to meet fellow Inkoid Mandy. That's two of the new members I have met , handy doing all these shows and travelling to different parts of this country.
Some shopping to be done tomorrow, already picked up some pieces for my display next week.
Oh I forgot to say, I'm demoing at Cadbury's Garden and Leisure, Bristol, on Saturday and Sunday. I will be demoing Indigoblu Christmas stamps, Flitterglu and Kroma Crackle. So if you are in the area please come and say Hi.
Today's card was from the Spellbinders D-Lites launch, there are two of the dies on this card. Plus a stamp from Creative Expressions  and a mask from That Special Touch. The stamped image was done in Flitter and Flake glue and Gilding flakes.
Time to finish now.

Sunset Window

Back to the hotel now after a busy day at Westpoint, great to see all our regular customers and we had some good laughs. We ventured out after the show and went to Sidmouth with the Oyster stamp team. We had fish and chips after a walk along the front to clear out the cobwebs, definite smell of salt in the air.......
For today's card I used the self-adhesive sheets and glitter from Creative Expressions. After removing the protective sheet I added the red and gold glitters together making sure the whole piece was covered. Then I glued the die-cut window to it , cutting around the edge before applying to the base card. This was embossed using a Special Touch mask, first layer just plainly embossed, the top layer was made by inking the mask with Perfect Medium  then embossing. The indented side was covered with gold embossing powder and heated, I then cut away part of it. The flowers were cut from some more self-adhesive covered with glitter. I used both the leafy corner die and the sprigs  to add around the window.
Time to do some more crafting before bed so .............

Wreath of D-lite flowers

A whole lot of  die-cutting here, it did take me a while,if  I remember right some were done in  a hotel bedroom after a show. I think I shall being doing some work while  I am at this Westpoint show.
The stands all set up and ready for tomorrow,we are both looking forward to meeting everybody.
For this card I embossed using a mask a piece of white card, mind you not much of it can be seen.
The collection of  flowers were die-cut using some American Crafts' card in a variety of colours. After sticking the layers of the flower together and shaping I stuck the flowers down building up the wreath shape as I went.
In the centre I added  a medallion Nine  and place a pearl in it's centre from Hobby House.
Right time to do some of that work I mentioned.

Floral Bridge Card

Here's the card Leonie was doing a version of and one of Rosemary's favourites. I do like white on white cards with a little hint of colour. This card could also be called a bridge card, as the wrought iron fence die was used as a bridge between the sections. There are two die-cut pieces here for the length but they join together very easily . I'm sorry but Sue's embossing folder came out again but I do like this one and was great,as I had to use the PVA pearls.
So for this card I used 4 different dies from the new releases of D-lites, showing that they all work really well together. I think they are all in Set 1 if you are watching Create and Craft. Nearly ready for tomorrow, ironing, shopping and packing done and I've been to see my gorgeous Granddaughter.

I will not see her for over a week now but her mum my oldest daughter is teaching Mia how to do Face Time, so I can see her, but I will still be missing my cuddles.
So Happy Crafting for now.

Silver and White

Following yesterday's silver and white card, I thought I'd show you another but this time the corners were cut from craft metal.
The background was embossed using a Couture Creations embossing folder which are available from Creative Expressions along with the ribbon and fancy pearl embellishment.

At the moment I'm working on another POD, which will be seen next Tuesday evening, so no rest for the wicked as they say........... As I leave for Westpoint Exeter on Wednesday morning.

New D-Lites Cross

Home from Ally Pally so time to post another card from the Spellbinders POD.
A very pretty cross, which can be cut fully out or just the decorative pattern shape in the card because  there are two dies in the pack.
I cut the cross out of mirror card along with the foliage. The flowers were out of the same base cardstock and a glass Glintz added on top.
The embossing folder is one of my favourites from Creative Expressions but I used one of Debbi Moores' embossing blanks with it. This left the area behind the cross flat giving another look.
I added my favourite ribbon at this moment in time, crushed ribbon is also from Creative Expressions.
Another 22 cards to show, so plenty of ideas for those new D-lites.
Happy Crafting.

For My Friend

Relaxing after the first day at Ally Pally, what a busy day.........
It was great to meet some of our regulars and make some new friends.
Thank you from Kay and myself to my chocolate lady, she knows who is she is.
I'm itching to spend with all these lovely stands in one place, so what was on my list........
The card on today's post was one I made for the the D-lites POD on Ideal World. I used three of the new flower D-lites to build this corsage around the label. It took a while to do all the cutting but I loved the finished result and the colour combination. The background was embossed using a Sue Wilson folder from Creative Expressions. The cardstock was from American Crafts.
Time to finish now as I have another busy day tomorrow.
Happy Crafting.

Rosette Wreath

Ok I went a bit mad making rosettes for this wreath but I wanted to show off the papers in Sheena's first paper pad. All the papers are double-sided but not with the same designs together, so giving you more variety to play with.
I made all the rosettes on my Hougie board, instructions for which are in Book One but if you are visiting Ally Pally this weekend I am sure Kay will show you how.
Well we are all set up for the show, had a lovely meal out with Trish and David from Ribbon Box at the local Italian. Then spent the rest of the evening doing some DT work which will be seen on Create and Craft  very soon.
So I think it's time to say goodnight and
Happy Crafting.

Shimmering Koi

One more day to go until Sheena's Pick of the Week begins on Create and Craft, so here's another sneak peek of a card made with the new stamps and..........embossing folders. Oh and the paper pack, a piece of which I've used for the mount.
My husband and I have Koi, one of which is well over 20 years old. It's so peaceful watching them swim  around the pond. We've even been to some of the Koi shows around the country, don't think ours will ever reach that size.
For this card I embossed a piece of the Centura Pearl for the background, then inked the folder with a Perfect medium pad and embossed the card stock. The ink transfers to the debossed side over which I covered with silver embossing powder. After heating I covered with Salty Ocean Distress ink., then die-cut with an oval Spellbinders.
The koi I coloured using alcohol markers  and then added a bit of shimmer with glue and glitter.
The Chinese symbols were stamped with Versafine and embossed with clear EP.

Today will be filled with washing, packing and ironing as I'm off to Ally Pally tomorrow to set up for the show. Can't wait to meet everybody, so if your a blog follower please come and say hello, I'll be on the Hougie stand.
I will be posting he samples I made for the Spellbinders POD very soon, so please visit regularly.
Happy Crafting.

Swirls and rosettes

As I'm writing this post I'm actually sitting in the green room at Ideal World. Yesterday was very busy finishing samples for the Spellbinders POD as I had to deliver as well. Then I made some more last night and delivered this morning, so it gave me the opportunity to watch the 10am show in the studio.
It was lovely to watch Nigel and Rosemary at work, no I still don't won't to be on the other side, it's still scarey. I prefer making the samples for others to show.
Mentioning samples , here is another sneak peak for Sheena's show on Friday, which has now been changed to a Pick of the Week. This will give you more chance to see all the lovely samples made by my fellow Inkoids .

Monday 16 September 2013

Sheena's gone Oriental

Sneak peek of Sheena's new stamps, which will be on Create and Craft on Friday at 8am and over the weekend , that's if they last.......
It's not just stamps that Sheena has designed but also embossing folders and papers, all of which I love. Where does she find the time ? I know why she needs us Inkoids.......

I had these lunch bags in my stash , saving for a raining day......... I wondered what would happen if I embossed them .......... in one of those new folders. Well it worked, so I inked using Brush Corduroy to emphasise the embossing. The water lilies were made by inking the folder with Perfect Medium, embossing the card stock, then adding silver embossing powder to the debossed side and heating.
Using alcohol pens to colour the flowers then cutting them out and attaching to the bag with Pinflair glue gel. Then a pink dotty double bow to finish.
I will be posting a creation made with Sheena's new releases every day up Friday when the lady herself will be on Create and Craft showing her ideas on the new products.
So please check back, and also don't forget those blogs of the other Inkoids,  for more inspiration. Follow the link off Sheena's blog.
So that's it for today.

One and All

Sorry just realised that I have a couple more cards made with Jayne's stamps, another Christmas one first.
A easy card here if you don't mind fussy cutting, the trees were embossed in gold along with the die cut swirls, and background trees.
The poinsettias were made using a Spellbinders die, cutting paper from the same Christmas paper pad.
So one more to go, then hopefully I'll have some cards to show made with brand new stamps.
Another busy week  of sample making then off to Ally Pally on Friday. Love this show , I've been going there for 10 years and look forward to meeting some lovely customers who regularly go there.
So for tonight
Happy Crafting.

Day one Event City

This is the first time I've been on a stand at show not  helped to set it up. I had know idea where and who was here, so lunchtime I took a quick walk around.
It's easier to know where other stands are to help customers out, if they ask for a product you haven't got you know where to send them. Real reason ........... I know where to go if I need some shopping.......lol.
It had been fun demoing, I was given the Deco Pens and then as these were selling out fast  I changed to doing the Glitter Frosting and stencils. I back to playing again and it feels good.
Also after the show we all went shopping at the Trafford Centre, I love shopping here, back again in November to do my Christmas shopping.

This the last card I made for J & C Creations using Jayne Nestorenko's stamps, the Oriental Lady. Simply done in black and white using a Spellbinders die for the frame.
If you are going to Event City, Daisy Jewels have Jayne's stamps for sale, there is also some samples on show if you have trouble deciding which one.
Time for bed I think, ready for a busy day tomorrow !
Happy Crafting.

Fan....tastic

Very quick post today as I'm in the middle of packing for the Event City, Manchester show. I will be leaving the afternoon to meet up with the gang from Glitz Craft at the hotel. Will have to take a mini craft kit with me as deadlines are coming up on other projects I have got to do. Feel sorry for the hotel staff who have to clear up after  I have left............ Glitter.........lol.
Today's card is another made with Jayne Nestorenko's stamps, a mixture of two sets. I used the number one rule in crafting........cheat. The boarder is made up of two stamps a corner and a straight piece. They do match up but if you slightly out, do as I did cover it with a flower head. It then gives it this unusual shape, a crafty accident.
That's it for now so ......

Indian Sunset

Something bright and colourful for today as the weather seems to have suddenly changed. I'm not likening getting up and feeling cold, we haven't put are heating on yet, but I needed it on in my studio yesterday.
The background was made using Distress inks, Walnut Stain, Barn Door, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, and then Faded Jeans. Once I had stamped the image with Jet Black Archival, I used a damp paint brush to remove the ink to give highlights. The flowers were made using the same colours of ink and the leaves Peeled Paint.
Lots to do today as I'm off to Event City, Manchester tomorrow, looking forward to the 3 day show.
Guess who I'm working for and it isn't Hougie ?

Fan and Flowers

Just back from Thetford, great show, so not much time to shop, never mind more money for Manchester.
Kay and I had a stroke of luck though, after a lovely meal at the Deers Leap at Thetford, we found out they had a Conference room. So Kay has booked it to hold a Hougie workshop there on the 28th March 2014, so that's the Friday before the Sincerely Yours Thetford show.
Tonight's card is another using Jayne Nestorenko's stamps, the fan is from the accessory set
The dies for the base and the leaves are from Spellbinders, the embossing folder was from Creative Expressions.
The flowers and the fan were coloured with Copics. The edge of the flowers on the fan were glued and then a crystal glitter was added.
Maybe an early night is needed, busy few days a head until I leave for Manchester.

Christmas Deer

This is the last Christmas one for a little while, tomorrow we will be travelling the world with Jayne Nestorenko.
The deer was stamped in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and then using a damp brush the colour was drawn out to give some shading.
The dies then came out , Spellbinders for the circle, scalloped circle and the poinsettia and a Marianne for the flourish.
The background was made by matting some Christmas papers.
Soon be leaving for Kay's then off to Thetford to set up for the show on Sunday.
Don't forget if you like pink and are coming to the show Kay now has Hougie and Junior  in that lovely colour, also with every board purchased a donation is going to Breast cancer.
So that's it for today so.....

Christmas Bauble

Sorry but I love doing Christmas cards.
This one was made using Spellbinders new Bauble die for this year and Jayne's Christmas stamps.
Just one Distress Ink that being Stormy Sky and some Aurora Crystal embossing powder.
Add the Poinsettia die from Spellbinders and a holly punch, mix all that up with a bit of embossing and this is the card I produced.
Not long now until the Thetford show, shopping list being written ( this is the problem with attending so many shows ) , washing and ironing done. Just a few more samples to make so.......
Happy Crafting.

Thursday 5 September 2013

Christmas Holly

Another Christmas card here, using Jayne Nestorenko's stamps. The same set as I made heart wreath with, also using Distress Inks, Stickles and a Holly punch.
There is an aperture in this card to give a bit of depth, as you know I don't like flat cards.
I love using Kraft card and this was a 12x12 sheet from Anna Marie Designs, so glad they are at the same shows as Kay and I go to.
The technique with the holly leaves I'll be demoing at the NEC and the SECC. I will on the J & C Creations stand, who are the only retailers at the shows selling Jayne's stamps.
If you cannot wait until then  and are going to Sandown  today, tomorrow or Saturday or Thetford on Sunday the stamps will be for sale on their stand. The samples will also be there for you to have a look at, the lovely Julie will be there demoing and will give me a shout if there are any questions.
Looking forward to going to Thetford, hope the weather behaves. I will as usual be on the Hougie stand , did you know Kay has Hougie Junior in PINK !!! As the last time when Hougie was in Pink , Kay is making a donation to Breast Cancer with every board sold.
So I hope to see many friends and followers there on Sunday, until then Happy Crafting.

Lilac Christmas Tree

I love tree stamps , lost count how many different ones I have. They are brilliant for Christmas cards, so many different techniques can be done with them.
This stamp is one of Jayne Nestorenko's  along with the background trees.and the wording
on this card.
I stamped and embossed the tree in silver, painted the branches with Shaded Lilac Distress ink. Then applied Cosmic Shimmer glue over it and then covered that in glitter.
Sorry I had to fussy cut again, to mount it over the edge of the aperture. The snowy landscape was made by tearing card strips and applying glue and glitter like I did with the tree.
The embossed background was made using a new embossing folder from Crafters Companion.
The snowflake in the corner was made using one of the new  snowflake dies from Spellbinders.
Right time to get to work............play

Christmas Wreath

A Christmas wreath this time using Jayne Nestorenko's stamps.
The wreath was built up using the individual small stamps which means you could do any shape you wanted. I die-cut a heart shape drew around it leaving a faint pencil line and then over stamped with distress inks. With the leaves, I used a damp paint brush to pull in the colour from the stamped image.
Just a quick post today , so much work to do, but I will be demoing this aand many other things at The SECC and the NEC on J & C Creations stand.

Indian Summer

Thought the card was very appropriate, as we seem to be having another Indian summer.
I made some more cards using Jayne Nestorenko's stamps for J & C Creations, who will be selling Jayne's stamps at most of the paper craft shows around the country. So if you are going to Thetford this weekend  please check the stand to see Jayne's lovely stamps.
I painted this Indian princess with Distress inks and all the flowers, which I had fun fussy cutting. I added gems to the centre of the flowers to add a bit of sparkle.
The dies used were Spellbinders and Marianne, the embossed background was made with an embossing folder which was a free gift from a magazine.
Please check back for more samples made with Jayne's stamps but for me now it's off to make a whole lot more as I have two deadlines to complete , both of which include brand new products, never been seen before. Aren't I a lucky girl ?
Happy Crafting.
