Sheena's Village Mystery

Sorry for the break been a bit busy again with work and looking after my Granddaughter while her Mum's at work. Talking of Mia, guess who's fast asleep in her travel cot at this moment in time.
So the weekend after the Trade show Kay and I travelled to Bracknell for the Sincerely Yours show.
Only a one day show this but we had the launch of Book 4 from Hougie and also a new circle cutter which went very well. If you want to see it in action and are coming to Farnborough for the Make It show ask Kay for a demo.
This week is going too quick, we leave for Farnborough tomorrow and I still have the sausage rolls to make lol.
Tattered Lace was on today with some great deals on the dies as well as a very good starter kit. I did make a couple more cards for this show using the Rocking Horse die.

I loved the way this turned out, the papers are from The House of Zandra, another company whose paper I can't resist. saying that reminds me Lili of the Valley will be at Farnborough with 6 new paper pads.
Sheena is on our screens again tomorrow with The Village Mystery stamps, a little bit different but with Sheena's favourite era the 50's.
The inkoids played with H20s  and distress inks with these stamps also adding some of Sheena's Flower stamps.

The houses were stamped in black twice, then one image was die cut. This piece I then painted with H20s and after adding 3d foam to the back placed over the first image.
The flowers were stamped on American Crafts card  and then cut out and the roses built up.
Well somebody will be awake soon so for now Happy Crafting.

Stitches 2014

Evening all, well I've just about recovered from two whole days of walking the Stitches trade show at the NEC.
The day began early, arriving there at 9am to collect my pass for the show. First call to find Kay ( Hougie) to drop off those sausage rolls,

then to see Noreen on the Katy Sue stand with some more samples. I also collected the brand new CD from there which is being launched on Create and Craft next month.
I also had to visit my old friends on the Personal Impressions stand Jan, whom I met at Ranger U, quite a few years ago.

I of  course had to see my fellow Grandmother Kim Hupke of the Spellbinders fame, we have have been friends for about 9 years ever since The Wizard first arrived in this country. I had the pleasure of looking after Stacey and Kim when they came over to demonstrate the die cutting machine.
We only meet once a year but talk on Facebook, so it's  great she comes over for the Stitches trade
show. We compare notes on being a Grandmother lol.

I will post some more pictures tomorrow but for now Happy Crafting.

Can you tell I'm getting excited ?
Stitches tomorrow, from looking at the list it looks like I'm ready. I'm still looking forward to it even after 10 years of going.
I hope the journey is straight forward, those who went today to set up the stand or just to be there ready had a slow journey today. At least the weather looks ok for tomorrow  after all the bad weather we have had in these past few weeks. I hope those travelling tomorrow have a safe journey.

Another card today using the Katy Sue Designs CD, Friendship and Flowers, this one just uses one of the toppers and a backing paper.
With some Spellbinders dies and some more Martha Stewart air dried clay for the flower pot and the flowers.
I was playing with the moulds again yesterday, using UTEE and another product which was a blast from the past........... Can you guess what ?
I will tell all tomorrow, along hopefully with some photos from the show.

Sweet Friend

Ok I'm mixing and matching again today, Katy Sue Designs, Spellbinders and Martha Stewart.
Using the Martha Stewart air dried clay in the Katy Sue mould to make the flowerpot . This time I mixed the white with the brown paper clay to produce the colour I needed. I left the pot overnight to completely dry and then added a little Distress ink for shading.
The spray of flowers is JPEG imge on the CD which I printed out A6 size to fit the pot. The backing papers are on the CD in several different colours, I went with the green for this card.
The background trellis , the topper and the greeting tag are all Spellbinders dies. Then just to finish off and give the card a border I did some faux stitching.
I've just seen that Katy Sue have a new CD out Fabulous Fellas, picking my copy up on Sunday to start work on samples for the TV show. So if  like most of us your stuck what card to make for those men in your life, this looks like a very good buy.

Flowers and Friendship

Well the surprise is I can post some of the cards I made for the Katy Sue show.
I've made a few more since and I'll save those for next month.

This card was a good mixture of products, all I love playing with.
The urn was made using Martha Stewart air dried clay in one of the Katy Sue moulds. Left to dry over night and then some Pumice Stone Distress Ink added for shading. The sage foliage came from the new D-Lites from Spellbinders, showing you don't have to use the flowerpot die the plant comes with. The  base was also using one of the new releases from Spellbinders, I cut and embossed  and then inked before removing  the  cardstock from the die. This I then cut again with the next size  down, leaving a frame plus a label. When mounting I just put 3D foam under the label to lift it from the frame.
The backing papers are from the Flowers and Friendship CD ROM from Katy Sue Designs.
The punch border was one of the new deigns from Martha Stewart, that Mel Heaton demonstrated just recently on Create and craft.
Busy knitting at the moment but I must go and make a few more cards before Sunday, so for now Happy Crafting.

Tattered Lace Cherished Moments

Down to the last three cards for this Tattered Lace POW, so I've decided  to show all of them. The one above and the below are using the Cherished Moments corner.

Similar card  except on this one  I mounted the centre die cut on an oval panel.  The Ornate Frame on the oval was cut twice in white then brown, when stuck down the frame was slightly off set so it looked like a shadow.

There's a family joke behind this one, I wonder what response I'll get tonight because I've put it on my blog. It was only because I needed a couple of initials to finish the card.
The Katy Sue show has been put back to March, so I will have to save posting my cards until then.
I'm not certain what I'll post tomorrow be ready for a surprise, because it will be that to me as well !!!!!

Tattered Lace Hearts.

Having a lazy day after looking after Mia yesterday, and yes she was a very good girl.
Really looking forward to Stitches on Sunday, which is the craft trade show for this side of the water.
This will be my 11th time at the show, 9 working for a company, 2 networking as we call it.
Already have a list of stands to visit, many are companies I already work for. Can't wait to see what is being launched at this show. Will try and take some photos, which I'll post on future blog posts.
Today's cards are are using the Doily Delights and the Cherished Heart from Tattered Lace.
The heart looks like it's floating in the card above because I attached it to acetate which was put behind the aperture .
The papers were from Lili of the Valley and the embossing folder from Creative Expressions.

A quick card here, just cut the Cherished Locket three times , cut the hearts apart and then glitter.
Place a strip of ribbon down the centre of the card and layer the hearts on top..
I made the bow separately and glued on top.
The papers came from Tattered Lace, which waswith the last release of dies.
Katy Sue on Create and Craft tomorrow, I'll post some cards from that in the morning.
So for now Happy Crafting
Ps. Thanks to my followers for all the lovely comments, I do read them all and they are appreciated .

Tattered Lace Summer Meadow

Just a quick post while a certain someone is taking a nap. She has been a good girl for Nanny while we went shopping.

Today's cards are made with the Summer Meadow die from Tattered Lace. For this card I cut the
shape out in white card , then coloured it with Copics. I also used the Beloved Borders, Flourishing Hearts and Mini Blooms.

This one was simply cut out of mirror card, mounted onto an oval cut out using my Spellbinders die. Then mounted onto a background, which was made using the Double Delights Adore, cut out twice and glittered.

Tattered Lace Hidden Surprises Day 4

Morning all, wasn't wanting an early start but it was so noisy outside due to the wind and rain I couldn't sleep. Oh well it's practise for tomorrow, I'm looking after my Granddaughter for the whole day  while her Mum's at work and she arrives about 7 am in the morning.
Today's cards are using the Counting the moments die, the first card also includes the Champagne  Glass. After cutting the die in Gold Mirror card, I thought of making a Happy New Year card. The clock hands are separate, so you can set them to any time you need them to be.

A wooden clock this time , set to the time of somebody's birth this time maybe ? The wording and the loopy border were also on the POW show.
More shows today at 9am and 4pm, wonder how much stock has gone ?
Hope the weather is better for everyone today, I know I'm lucky where I live, not much chance of flooding here, wind damage yes as we live next to open fields but so far so good on that.
Happy Crafting no matter what the weather.

Hidden Surprises Day 3

Hearts today, this one is ready for Valentines Day. This one is a mixture of the two hearts on the show, they do mix and match very well.
The base heart is from Doily Delights, then the other layers are from Cherished Locket. The swirls came from the Flourishing Hearts, I just cut off the hanging hearts, a very useful die this. The flowers came from the Mini Blooms set, even these have fine detail on them.

The dies used on this one were the Doily Delights, Flourishing Hearts, Mini Blooms and the Double Delights Adore.

Watching Kay from IndigoBlu at the moment, makes me want to go play and get messy, well housework is done so after the show I think I will.
So Happy Crafting 'till tomorrow.

Hidden Surprises Day 2

This was my favourite card, I loved how it turned out. I used two of the Pick of the Week dies and three upsales. The doily under the flowers was actually made from the cross, which I glittered when made up.

Here 's the full version of the cross, used as christening card but it could be a wedding card.
That's all my projects complete for now, just waiting on something which should arrive tomorrow.
More Tattered Lace cards tomorrow, must go and order my Tattered Lace magazine before they all disappear.
Happy Crafting.

Tattered Lace Hidden Surprises

Over to Tattered Lace today, there is a new range being launched on Friday at 12noon on Create and Craft ,Hidden Surprises. So I've been a bit busy for the last  couple of days, but it has been fun, they are lovely dies, plenty of variety, they mix and match very well. Great for any celebration and there are flowers which are always useful.

Which one to show first , found it hard to decide but this card gives you a view of several different dies in this set. Tried very hard to use different colours, not just white which is very easy to do.
This one reminds me of the Scandinavian look which is still very popular at the moment.
Hope you love the dies, I'm still playing ( working ) at the  moment , still more ideas that need making.
                                                           So for now Happy Crafting.

Die-lectables Butterflies

A couple of cards using Create and Craft new Die-lectables, butterflies and the flower box.
The first card was built up with a patchwork background using Lili of the valley papers, with faux stitching around the squares.
The second was made using one of the new  A4 embossing folders  from Sheena Douglass for the background. The square behind the flower box was just a blended ink background using Distress Inks, sprayed with water to lift off some of the colour.
There were three butterflies in the set, I've used two here the third I'll show tomorrow.
My studio is calling, must get back to work, deadlines have been brought forward.

Happy Crafting.

Die-lectables

Evening everyone, well today was the trail run of looking after my Granddaughter, pleased to say that it all went well. So I'm now ready for next Monday when my daughter will be back at work.

Here's a picture of smiler from today, she is nearly 9 months , where does time go ?
It was funny today taking her around the supermarket, a lady thought she was mine, said I didn't look old enough to be her Nanny! Big grin here.
There has been two shows on since I went to Westpoint, the first was the Di-lectables, Create and Craft own dies made by Spellbinders. They were great to use , a versatile set, they are also easy to separate from the others as they are purple.

This card was made with the Dragonfly corner, navy blue on white , white on navy blue, the flower was made with the deckle circle.

Here is the other die from the Dragonfly corner set. I'm happy, as many of you know a dragonfly is my symbol on business cards and stationery.
The trellis is from the flower box and of course the papers are from Lili of the Valley. Help ! They have 6 new paper pads.
