Sheena's One Day Wonder

I thought I'd do a quick post to dhow the cards I made for Sheena's show.

This one was made using White embossing powder and Forest Moss Distress ink.

Clear embossing powder with Silver gilding wax over the top.

I had to make this one after seeing the brickwall stamp for the first time, it was painted using Aquatints.

To create the background, I applied lots of Aquatint colours to a sheet of acetate then misted with water. Laying a piece of white card over the acetate, then removed and dried.
Stamping the image in black , then clear embossing powder and heating.
The design was sliced in three and then matted and layered.

To place the wall behind the plough I used the drawing gum to mask off . The image was painted with Aquatints

For this design I actually made masks with post it notes because I forgot I had drawing gum. All of it was stamped in Black Soot. Think I need a new ink pad but it does give an early misty morning look.
I used a damp paint brush to pull the colour out from the stamped image.
Update for craft room, units are all in, even LED light for the larder cupboard, just waiting for carpet, curtains and a CD unit. Some items that I don't use very often have gone in, but I have a busy schedule this week including looking after my gorgeous Grandaughters.
I'll post photos very soon for both.
Happy Crafting.

Byzantine Day 3

Today I decided to start sorting out my dies, ready to go into my new craft room.
I put them into CD or DVD cases depending on size, onto a piece of magnetic sheet which has been glued in. Then die details onto the spine. I think this is going to take a while but I had started  some time ago and it worked well. However with my new room I can have a large unit to store them in.
Of course this will be an ongoing job, as there are always new dies.
Talking of new dies, here are a few more cards made with new Tattered Lace dies.

I inked through the die with 3 Distress inks, Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge and Wild Honey.

This was made with a double sided adhesive sheet and gilding flakes.

Now must get back to my organising, so
Happy Crafting.

Byzantine Day 2

Craft Room Update..............units have arrived.

Did you love the samples on the POD ?
The two die sets will be both very useful essentials, the lattice is good for embossing as well as die cutting.
The above card uses both sets as well as the Geometric Embossing Folder and the Meadow leaves.

Just the Byzantine Lattice on this one with the Floral Swirls Embossing Folder, the flowers are also available on the show.
Time for a cuppa so for now
Happy Crafting.

Byzantine dies

Evening all, just been to drop off samples at Ideal World for Nancy Watt's show tonight at 9pm.
Here are a few of those samples

This card was made the new Byzantine lattice and Essentials Byzantine along with flowers from the pop up box. The flowers were cut from the decorative paper then embossed using one of the Trio folders, after which I fringed the petals. For the foliage I used the Sweetpea die.
The greeting came from one of the Sentiments pads from Tattered Lace along with the ribbon.

This was made using the Pop up box die, along with the Byzantine Lattice and Sweetpea.
Looking forward to tomorrow , the units for my craft room arrive, seems such along time ago we started to plan my room.
Happy Crafting.

Craft Room Update

As you can see I have gone for green which has been painted over a textured wall paper. The unit is now white along with the door.
I now have 2 strip lights instead of a central light, I need as much light as possible especially for the winter months.
The door is being glossed as I type, so now it's roll on Wednesday, when the units arrive.
I'm on the look out for curtain material  but it needs to have dragonflies on, so if anybody sees any could you let me know please.
It could be I will have to stamp my own !
Gone back in time for today's card.

Happy Crafting.

Craft Room In the making

I thought I'd show you today how my craft room is coming along,

This was how it started, it was my youngest daughter's bedroom, yes it was pink and white.

The floor needed a bit of levelling so while the floorboards were up my husband put in extra support, we all know how heavy card and dies are.
We have progressed since these photos were taken so I'll show you tomorrow how it is now.
Couldn't decide what cards to show you today but I'm watching Fiona from Crafter's Companion with the E-brush so I thought I'd show you a couple of cards I made with it.

Have to also say Good Luck Kay ( Hougie) who is back on TV tonight at 8pm and several times tomorrow.
Happy Crafting.

Sheena's Cat Stamp

Afternoon everyone,
Wish the weather would make it's mind up , I haven't got time to keep taking the washing in and out.
Back to normal routine, nearly, Husbands back at work but now my daughter's on holiday but she is heading to Skegness tomorrow for a few days.
Have been busy working on samples for the next Tattered Lace magazine which have to be sent today and then must start on the next new collection.
Did you have chance to see Sheena ? I loved the fusion technique on the die cut leaves, looks good, will have to try as soon as I have more space and can unpack my dies and stamps.
Here are a couple more cards made with Sheena's Embossing folders and stamps.

That's all for today.
Happy Crafting.
