Tattered Lace Mini Dies Day 2

Ok another short post as I'm at the Great British Craft Festival in Bolton.
Day One over, really enjoyed it, some really nice polite customers, all the stand holders commented on it. Had a really nice meal out with several of our friends new and old.
Now back at the hotel catching up on Facebook ,  talking of Facebook, if you're a Facebook friend did you see me in a Mexican hat...........
Here are the other three cards from the last Tattered Lace One day wonder,

Mini Tattered Lace Dies

Just a quick post as I'm getting ready to go to Bolton tomorrow, then I have some samples to make ready for collection on Tuesday, wonder who they are for...............
Here are some samples from the One Day wonder, which is on Create and Craft today.
The design team had fun just playing with these mimi dies.

The set will the baby's breath and leaves sold out very quickly but the heart border is still available, the bricks are made from the plaque die.

The papers on this card are from a Lili of the Valley paper pad which was free with a magazine on sale now.

The heart that sold out was use to make the wings of this dragonfly. The body was the baby's breath, the feelers were actually made  from the leaf  die. These dies could also make a butterfly, a shorter body maybe............
I'll post some more tomorrow
Happy Crafting.

Man About Town

Hope everyone is enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend ?
We lost our internet after a near by lightening strike , so I've had problems loading photos to my blog page but a very nice engineer fixed it this morning.
I'm working ( playing ) as usual, now the housework is done. Something for TV tomorrow plus some other projects for next week. There is a very strong smell of rubber  in the  room, could that be some new stamps........ I wonder.
Not long now until the Hunkydory show at Bolton, seems ages since I last worked with Kay( Hougie ). Hope it's a busy show, need to get my brain back in gear though, where is that calculator.........
Here is Day 2 of the toppers

These two are using papers from Kraftyhands Man about town DVD, I actually printed them off  smaller to make toppers. I just love the images, could have played with them all .
The show was actually to show the perfect layer rulers but I just had fun playing with toppers.......
I'll post some more samples tomorrow which are from the one day wonder show which is on at 8am.
Happy Crafting

What to do with toppers ! Day One

Just a quick post today, I made some samples for the Perfect 4DD , so I used some toppers printed off from a collection of CDs I have. These are from Katy Sue , the designs are from Sandra Wright.
Love playing with her backing paper designs, they mix and match so well.
Happy Crafting.

Suck it and See !

Today I thought I'd show you something different,
I was really unsure what was going to be involved when I got the call, all I knew was it was to do with cats.........
Create and Craft were introducing a new company called Suck Uk, with some very different products. Several crafters were  given a few of the products to decorate in there style. I was given a cat cabin,  teepee and a set of decks along with some Hazel and Ruby paper and washi tape. One strict requirement was that it had to be food safe, meaning the adhesive. Well it was back to my early crafting days with flour and water paste. My brother and I used to make masks by blowing up a balloon and applying strips of newspaper  with flour and water paste. Once dry you popped the balloon and cut the shape in half, then decorated with acrylic paints
As I was seeing how the teepee was put together before decorating, our frequent visitor as she is know, decided to check it out.
Someone looks content.......
Here are how the other samples turned out

There was only one problem during the show Nigel had the crafter's names wrong, these were the items I did, it was Nikki Killinger who did the monkey and bear. I did however end up with a new crafty Facebook friend, Hi Nikki
Sorry to end on a sad note but I heard today that Noreen ( Katy Sue )'s husband died, just using this post to send my condolences to Noreen and her family. It has been such a shock but I know this big crafty family  we belong to will be sending their love and hugs.

Floral Day

Morning all, well the sun is still  out, a lovely time to get out in the garden. I  enjoy the fact I have a craft studio  in ours. It's great to watch the birds and insects when I take a few minutes from crafting.
Keeping to the garden theme here are a couple of cards including flowers,
The first one uses the bucket and spade die set from Tattered Lace along with the mini blooms.
The papers are from a Lili of the Valley pad, used this one a lot , so need to buy another when I'm at the Bolton show in a couple of weeks.

Something bright and cheerful here, Spellbinders dies this time using the new mirror card stock from Create and Craft.
Ok I'm waiting for the postman again, wish I knew when he was arriving, what to do while I wait , hum ......lets's see.
                                 Happy Crafting  everyone

Live every moment

It was my Granddaughter's 1st birthday yesterday , where has  that year gone ?
For those who did not see the photo on Facebook here it is.

Opening her presents from Nanny and  Granddad.
Work ( play ) calls today as I have quite a few projects pending, well I do when the post arrives.
Delivery to Ideal World today with something very different for me, so watch the show on Friday 19th May at 2pm. That's all I'm saying but photos will be posted on here on the day.
Just booked to go to the Sincerely Yours show at Newark this weekend, can't believe how excited I am . It seems such a long time since I have been to a show, looking forward to seeing my crafty friends. Shopping list is being added to daily, going  to the show with my friend Anne so I hope she keeps me under control. Lol

Here are a couple of cards from the Tattered Lace POD, have a feeling I might need these ballet shoes for Mia and her friends when she is older.
Time for lunch then the trip to Peterborough, so
Happy Crafting for now.

Wax, fish and Toadstools, what a mixture !

Morning all , it's Monday again so that means Grandma time.
Yes she is fast asleep , so time to blog.
Missed the  Sheena show this morning but will catch up on my IPad when Mia has gone home. The inkoids had another chance to play with the embossing folders again, ther are so many different techniques you can do with these.

This one uses glossy card and the wax paper technique along with three colours of Distress ink. The card didn't finish like this, I decided to add a wording topper to it, felt it needed something else.
I've also had fun recently playing with Create and Craft's  own card stock for a show Jak Heath was on. Out came all the Spellbinders and Tattered Lace dies along with some of Sheena's stamps, remember these ?

The background stamp is one of Sam Poole's from Creative Expressions which was stamped and embossed using clear EP. I used clear as well with the reeds and cut them out, the fish was stamped in black on an gold piece of the mirror.
Still have more Tattered Lace to show here from the last POD,

Love these Toadstool dies, great to add to those fairy stamps and dies but I think this card would be good for a man's card.
Three cards today and what a mixture , hope you like them.
Happy Crafting.

Sheena show on Monday

Just a quick post here to let you know that Sheena is back on our telly on Monday at 9am and 3pm with the Indian embossing folders. The inkoids had another chance to play with these wonderful Indian embossing folders. Check out the other Inkoid blogs ( link on Sheena's blog ) to see what has been created.
For this card I used Versamark to ink the folder, or you could do Sheena's trick of brayering glycerin on to it. I used clear embossing powder this time and inked over with Distress ink. I repeated the process but cut out the flowers and embossed them with clear powder.
The leaf spray is from the Indian stamps which were on previously.
As I still have a collection of unseen cards here is another Tattered Lace card from the recent POD.

If you saw the demo that Nancy did you will know that this is made from the helterskelter and the Ferris wheel. The papers from my stash led to making it  tropical, the Ferris wheel was cut coloured and glittered to give the look of those sparklers, you sometimes get in cocktails.
Right I'm off to play ( work ) now, something for the weekend. Hint hint.
So Happy Crafting everyone.

Wednesday 7 May 2014

What a picture !

Mia day today, but still had chance to watch Nancy with those lovely new dies.
Just watched Nancy do the demo I designed, hope whoever wins it enjoys it, it was fun to make. The idea came from snipping the die cuts about, the base of the Ferris wheel just looked like an easel.

The ledge for the canvas and the buckle came from the spade.
The card below I put on Facebook yesterday.

I used the Grand Squares from Spellbinders to make the frame and the decorative border was made using the  top of the carousel die. The die cut was embossed with clear embossing powder., to give it a glazed look.
The background was made using the wrinkle free distress technique. Wipe several colours of distress ink across a craft mat, spray with water and wipe a piece of white card across it, dry with a heat gun.
To make the banner ,colour some white card with the same colours used for the background, then die cut . Sew together,I used a piece of bakers twine for this.
More samples to follow tomorrow.
Happy Crafting.

A day on the beach

Seem to have neglected to post just recently, sorry......
I have been busy, spent most of the bank holiday weekend in my shed while my Hubby was in his garage. We only seemed to meet up for. meals. Lol
With being busy it means there are plenty of samples to show you.
Tonight sees the launch of a new set of dies from Tattered Lace, I love these and I told Stephanie so as soon as I saw them. When I first started crafting, one of my first loves was scrapbooking, these dies would be brilliant for those  seaside holiday photos. I really wanted to do a page using these dies but  time  ran out. I'll save them for when we take Mia to the coast for the first time.

Do you remember using a wind break ?
I do, on Great Yarmouth  beach, we went there every June  for our holiday when we were kids.
Hanging the beach towel over the wind break to dry.
I wanted to add seashells to this card but could I find any......no but after a trip to a garden centre I found a few. I remember when I was little there were shops  near the sea that sold netting bags of all different shells. Do they still ?
I used torn Kraft card for the sand but on another card I used sandpaper both give quite a good effect.
Coffee stirrers make very good poles for the wind break.
As with all Tattered Lace dies  don't think these dies will only be used for seaside card and scrapbook pages, watch tonight or keep an eye on my blog for other ideas.........
Happy Crafting?
