Something Different

Something different for me that is,usually I make cards, sometimes boxes but I was asked to use several different pieces of chipboard shapes. For this post I'm showing the door hanger for which I've used the Penny Black set called Free Flight to decorate it.
The base was made by applying an acrylic paint,in this case black, using a heat gun to make sure it was completely dry before the next stage.Paint over all of it with a PVA glue and then straight after with another colour of paint. As you dry this with a heat gun the top layer of paint will crack, the reason being the glue and paint dry at different rates.
I overstamped the main image onto the bottom of the hanger with Jet Black Archival and also the small butterfly randomly over the rest. The larger butterfly I stamped onto white card and used Distress ink to colour it.Bundled Sage and Victoria Velvet were the colours I used but there are many combinations that could be.

The spiral flowers were coloured with Victorian Velvet before twirling them and the leaves with Bundled sage. The leaves came from the foliage set of dies by Spellbinders.

All the products came from J & C Creations, link on the right-side of my blog.
