Spellbinders and Sheena today

Morning all, as promised a couple more cards from the Spellbinders POW

This was the first one I made , had the idea after just cutting them all out in just white card. I saw the petal shape when cutting out the baubles, so making a poinsettia was a must.

When I receive the dies to work with  there is very rarely any packaging  but  I could see  from the cut lines on the dies that this was probably the outcome they were after.  I cut the two  die parts out of white card and  coloured the baubles with Spectrums. To make it easier to glitter I used a spray adhesive, saves time and getting covered in glue.
I've realised after looking at my backlog of cards I only showed one of the cards I did for Sheena so here are a couple more.

This was made using one of the embossing folders, by inking the folder, embossing, then adding gold embossing powder. The leaves were painted with the silks , I didn't have a red , so I used Spectrums then painted over with the ice silk .

Love this image of the robin, after stamping and colouring I placed the image into the snowfall folder.. The background used the fir branches folder with Coredinations  card stock  which was sanded after embossing.
More of both show samples again tomorrow but for now

POD and POW

I'm back, after a wonderful holiday in Cornwall it was straight back to work. Tattered Lace  POD, the Christmas Embossing Folders, I was lucky to get the  Snowflakes.

With the first card I embossed some white card , then applied some gilding wax over the top then did some fussy cutting.
The second was  embossed craft metal.

For the third, I brayered the folder with eggplant adirondack ink then embossed, the same with the individual snowflakes which were from the folder but I heat embossed these using  Aurora Crystal embossing powder.

Some of you may have realised that I also had been busy making samples for the Spellbinders POW.
I know I'm very lucky having the chance to play with these dies before they go on sale, and I'm loving every minute.
Here are a couple  but more to follow soon.

Think it's time for lunch now but then it's off to the studio  for the next POW I believe. These will be very useful for a lot of  crafters..........

Christmas in July with Sheena Day One

Just escaped to the house while we have a thunderstorm, hope it doesn't last to long as I have plenty of samples to make before I go on holiday tomorrow.
Well our Sheena has a 4DD  starting on Monday, so my fellow Inkoids and myself have been very busy. Just wait to see how busy, poor Sheena has been overwhelmed with the boxes arriving on her doorstep.
On this show there is both new stamps and embossing folders, as well as some old favourites from last year. So great to use with your Spectrums, silks, Distress inks and embossing powders, not forgetting your gilding wax .
The card above was made using last years stamp but with one of the brand new embossing folders.
Since starting this post I have travelled down to Cornwall to start my holiday. Pleased to say the weather is good, hot and sunny, couldn't that about Gloucester. We decided to have a break from travelling on the way down and stop off at Gloucester Quays. The were in the middle of a food fair weekend , it would have been brilliant, had the heavens not opened. We were soaked to the skin, I feel sorry for the stall holders, nobody was standing still long enough to see what they were selling. The outlet store was busy, everybody escaping the rain. Did buy a waterproof coat at a bagain price, just in case but it's not going to rain any more is it.........
Well I can't complain about our holiday cottage, every need is catered for, there is even one of those things that gets hot, something you use on clothes...........
Just to answer Mrs B's question , a clue, it's something to use with ribbon.
Well I'm shattered , an early night , maybe, of to Plymouth tomorrow.
Will check in tomorrow night, another plus to this place free Wifi, can't be bad.

Doncaster Show

Sorry for the break only I've been a bit busy, Summer Crafting and sample making for Sheena's 4 DD starting on Monday.
Had a whale of a time last week, a lot of work but a lot of fun.
Arriving at Stephanie's Monday evening to join the rest of the gang in getting sample cards ready for the Friday workshop. Linda S and Linda T had already started in the prep but I couldn't leave until my Nanny duties had been completed on Monday. After a day of a lot of fussy cutting for me, we were well under way by Tuesday evening, so Wednesday I changed camps to join Nancy and Stephanie in making cards for the POD.

We were very lucky in seeing a lot of new things in production and yet to be seen on your screens. Sorry not saying any more just watch Create and Craft next week. Saying that there is one item I adore it has saved a lot of hassle for me and will do for you to........ It's so easy, I use it every day now.
Early start on Friday to drive to Doncaster, just in case the roadworks caused any problems. Kathleen and I put the world to rights on the way and nearly missed the turning through talking. We set up the room, all 30 tables in record time. After the briefing we all had a play with the new toy, so we could show how to use it.

I had a brilliant group of 19 ladies to look after, some I had met  for the first time last year ( Sally ). We all had a laugh, a learnt a lot I hope

Well they have all promised to come next year and they want me to look after them, I couldn't have been that bad.
You should have seen the goody bag they got,
Sorry Sally borrowed your photo, hope you don't mind.
The next two days were filled with  the Make and Takes  I was doing, nearly 180 ladies and gents over all. I showed how to use the Envelope Crafter then they decorated the flap using Card-io stamps.

I was shattered by Sunday evening but will still had the stands to take down.
I left just after 5pm but there was an accident on the M1 which delayed me by an hour..
Of course Monday morning at 7am my lovely Granddaughter arrived.
Would not have missed the chance to do this show, although it was very tiring and I joined Nancy with a sore throat, could be to do with all the talking we did.
Had a nice surprise on Tuesday this bouquet arrived.

Thanks Zoe and Stephanie, looking forward to next year.
Hope you liked liked this extra long post with all the photos, may have to do another post later because I have a lot of samples to show you but for now
Happy Crafting.

More of Sheena's Christmas stamps

Are you watching Sheena on Create and Craft, ? ,so many tips and techniques. Luckily Mia is asleep , took her shopping this morning to wear her out. Lol.

Today's cards hopefully will give you a few more ideas for using these new stamps. The ice border and the pine branches are great if you love to make background with them or to add on top.
With this card I played with Distress ink for the background, them over stamped with white embossing powder. One tip, make sure your Distress ink is well on truly dry before putting embossing powder on.

Made my own tree here with the branches, made the trunk with one of the border stamps from last years Christmas stamps. Used the same set,
different border to frame the tree.
How much more can I do before she awakes, nearly finished packing, just a bit of ironing ( sorry for swearing  lol ) to do , then to pack the car.
So for now Happy Crafting.

Sheena's Christmas Stamps

Our Sheena is on the telly tomorrow, Craft Clinic on Create and Craft. So here are a couple more cards I made for the show.

This one was made using last years stamp release which are also on the show. The tree decorations are made using Kraft card and white embossing powder which brings out the stitch detail. The branch is from one of the new sets, which I stamped in a green Adirondack.

Very easy card this, the greeting was stamped and embossed in gold. The poinsettias were coloured with Specrum Noirs, I stamped some extra out with the single poinsettia stamp to build the group for the top corner. I used a Crafters Companion  A4 embossing folder for the top and bottom after using the Spellbinders Grand Label for the topper and card blank.

This was the card I posted on Facebook yesterday.
I used the square Grand Labels from Spellbinders for the aperture, building up the layers but also enclosing the edge of the acetate. The acetate was actually embossed with the same folder as the previous card. It is a shaker card but that's hard to show on photos.
I've begun to pack, as I'm leaving for Stephanie's tomorrow after Mia goes back home. Hopefully it will be quieter on the roads than Tuesday morning.
More samples to make before I leave, so for now
Happy Crafting.

Embossing Folders Day 4

The last of the embossing folder cards today,  tomorrow will be all Sheena Douglass.
The blue and white card used one of the borders, just embossed into white card. The paper are again from the Tattered Lace CD. A Spellbinders die, Lacey circle for the base of the flower and a few gems to finish the card.

The full Doily folder for this one, embossed and sanded back. The roses were made from the poppy die with a few fern leaves from the Lavish leaves set.

This was the card I put on Facebook yesterday to  preview Sheena Douglass' new stamps. This one uses two of the new sets, they do mix together very well. The view into the house was painted with H2Os, the house and scenery was just embossed in black embossing powder. A bit of glitter was added  just for extra sparkle.
Now I'm stocked up with more glue, after visiting Colemans demo day, I better get some work done.

Tattered Lace Embossing Folders Day 3

The card above used just one of the borders and the corner. The border was embossed into the patterned paper then sanded back. The corner I embossed into white card stock then cut out and curled into a cone shape. The ferns and flowers were added in and around the cone.

I used the other border for this one, fairly straight forward to do but the flowers were made using the Lavish Stamen set.
Just to let you know our Sheena Douglass will be on the Craft Clinic Monday with her new Christmas stamps. The Inkoids have been ( working ) playing hard making lots of lovely samples. Check out Sheena's blog, link on the right hand side of my mine for links to the other Inkoids blogs. There will be daily posts from all of us, showing different ways of using these new stamps.

Housework done , so I'm off to print some more papers for another Tattered Lace show.
Happy Crafting.

Tattered Lace Embossing folders Day 2

Busy die cutting today , while waiting for the courier to collect samples made for Sheena's show next week. I'll be posting on my blog samples from that show tomorrow, Facebook probably today.
I used some of the hammered card from Create and Craft, and embossed both corners. Then using a craft knife cut along the edge of the embossing, long enough to place the patterned paper underneath. The papers were printed from the Tattered Lace CD, I usually print  one of the double and two full A4 singles. This gives me enough  papers for matting and layering  and to make some flowers.

This card was made using one of the Doily Borders, with the inking the folder technique and embossing powder.
Time to get the die-cutting done, lots more exciting new products to play with  this weekend as I'm off to Stephanie's next week. There is a lot of prep work to be done for  the Summer Crafting Workshop, and just to let you know if you are coming along to the show I will be doing Make and Takes all day Saturday and Sunday.

Tattered Lace embossing folders Day One

As promised yesterday here are a couple of cards from the POD. Wow what a show, it was like the first Tattered Lace show. I couldn't believe how fast they sold out, I did say to Stephanie these were very different especially the corner folder.
I was given the Doily folder to work with, no doubt I will be buying some of the others when they are in stock. Can't wait for the Christmad ones..................

Both my daughter and Loen liked this one, it was the first one I made. I embossed some black card then applied guilding wax over it. Cut out the pieces and applied to a gatefold card. I used the Marguerite die for the flowers, curling each layer as I built them up. I still use some of  my Spellbinders labels , as they mix and match well.

This card used one of the borders, embossed into the  soft  coloured mirror card available  from Create and Craft. The background papers came from the Tattered Lace CD, brought this as I couldn't make myself take the papers out of the magazine. I also find it easier to look at the magazine , choose the papers, then  go straight to the right issue on the CD.
Off to play with some new stamps from Sheena, who will be on our screens next week.
Enjoy the weather today, hope it doesn't get to warm in my studio.

Country Garden Part 7

Morning everyone,  well it's Tattered Lace POD tonight on  Ideal World  at 9pm , I will post samples  from tomorrow morning. So today I'm posting the last of the Country Garden ones you haven't yet seen.
The one above is using the Kew set of dies. To give the multilayer look, I actually die cut through the acetate the centre panel., which  gave me three layers. I could have gone further and done the centre circle as well.

This carton used the Kew set as well  and also the Winter Floral.

Harebell  and  Kew corner for this one., the flowers again were cut from white card and coloured with Spectrum Noirs.
The papers from my favourite paper pads by Lili of the Valley.
Well I must rush off now, a lot to do today so
