Country Garden Part 6

Well I'm back home after a busy weekend at the Sincerely Yours Portsmouth show. Great to meet up with some new and old friends.
Surprised to meet up with fellow Inkoid Pauline with her husband as I new she had been to Weston - Super- Mare to see McBusted. We had a lovely catch up, and talked about our crafting projects.
The frame above was one I had found in my ever increasing stash, so I painted it with gesso, then some pale blue paint. The flowers and wheelbarrow were cut from white card stock and coloured with Spectrum Noirs. I used some torn green card for the grass and Kraft card for the fence.

I made the box and covered it in Lili of the Valley papers. Then I used the Kew set of dies, cut from Centura Pearl.
Well I better go now as I'm trying to get a few jobs done while Mia is asleep so for now Happy Crafting.

Country Garden Part 5

Just a quick post while I'm waiting for Kay(Hougie) to collect her van from the garage, there's a story.
Then we are off to Portsmouth to set up for the Sincerely Yours show which is on tomorrow.
So here are a couple more projects from the Tattered Lace Craftinator.

This was a photo stand I brought from QD stores for 99p, I used Pebeo silks to paint it after using a layer of gesso first.
The sunflowers were cut out of white card then coloured with Spectrum Noirs, stuck to some orange card then cut out.

Another card using my favourite papers from Lili of the Valley and the Kew set of dies.
This was my chance to do Christmas as I was given the Country a Garden to work with. I also used the Winter Floral which was also on the show.
Now in my hotel room, the shows all set up  and we are ready to meet all the lovely customers tomorrow.
Let's home the weather is a lot kinder to us than today.

Country Garden Part 4

Truly a Christmas display item, a candle in a decorated acetate box.
I made a base and lid from Centura Pearl, then made an acetate tube to fit in the base. Also adding a die-cut scalloped square to the base for more support.
The lid I decorated with the Kew Corner and the Winter Floral. For the base I used the Kew Border and more of the Winter Floral, or should  I say a rather large amount of the Floral but it needed it, don't you think ?
To finish a few of Hobby House's gems and the candle was from Poundland.

Tattered Lace Part 3

Nanny day today as I had to take Mia for  another injection , then shopping and visiting Great Grandma. So for Mrs B , here's a photo of a very sleepy little girl.
And another of her other favourite pastime eating..............

This card was made using some construction acetate with a piece of Centura Pearl top and bottom. I used Kew Garden border for the top panel and the fence for the bottom. Before sticking the fence  I added some Peeled Paint Distress ink to the Centura.
The sunflowers were cut from white card then coloured with Spectrum Noirs, after which they were attached to the acetate , I glued  the open areas of the flowers and leaves on the opposite side of the acetate. Glittering each flower after gluing to prevent colour contamination . Then leave to dry, this was the hardest part.

Tattered Lace Country Garden Part 2

Sorry I don't know where yesterday went, I promised another card from the Craftinator , so today I'll post two.
This card was to show the pop up dies, very easy to use. The crease line on the die needs to be on the fold of the card. There are three different sizes to give variation in the depth of the pop up, on this card I used two different sizes.
The other dies used on this card  except the mini blooms and the wording  were on the show .

The centres of the flowers were made using  the PVA pearls from Creative Expressions. I also used papers from Lili of the Valley, sorry it had to be done since I've just brought some more.

Ok as promised here is the second card

Cream and brown this time, I thought I'd show you the other wheelbarrow that comes in the set, this one is empty so you can fill it with tools or flowers. I used some of the other mini blooms , and for
the flower centres I used some gems from Hobby House but as these were clear I coloured  them with Spectrum Noirs.
Ok lunchtime then it's back to the studio to work on some samples using some brand new products.
I love my job.

Tattered Lace Country Garden Part One

Thought it was time to post some of the samples from the Tattered Lace Craftinator.  I  was sent  some of the Country Garden dies to work with  and  I really enjoyed using them.
This first one was my favourite

The idea for this card came about by just moulding some of the die cut shapes into cone shapes, I then thought of  a planter you hang on a wall. I made another cone of  brown card to place inside these waffle cones. The leaves and flowers came from previously released sets, foliage and mini blooms.
I used PVA Pearls for the centre of the flowers, this plus the embossing folder are from Creative
Expressions.
If you like this then look out for tomorrow's post with more ideas for using these dies.

Topsy Turvey

Time for a cuppa, taking a break from making some samples due to be seen  on TV next week.
So  the break gives me chance to post some more samples from Create send Crafts card stock show.

The first two are using the Cut Fold and Tuck dies from Spellbinders which are great for showing off the Topsy Turvey 12x12 papers. The third one was cutting the  die set in alternating colours.
Ok ,cup of tea has been drunk,,so back to work I go.........

Spritz Magic

Taken a tea break from working on something you will see very soon. I thought I would go back in time to show some of the cards I have missed posting.
Today's are from the Perfect 4DD show, which also had the spritzer on. Never used one of these before, it was easy but I must say it was good exercise. A plus being you can use either hand to pump the air across pen tip. I found the only pens I couldn't use was the Spectrum Noirs because of the size and shape of the barrel. If you use Distress Ink pens you can add embossing powder over the top after spritzing because it stays wet for a while.

The masks are all Ali Reeve, whose Birthday is today " Happy 40th Birthday Ali " anyone would think I had planned this..............
I must get back to work so

Samples from Colemans demo day

Had a great time demoing at Colemans Warehouse last Saturday, it made a change from just making all those samples. It was also a change to play with Sizzix dies and the new Papermania paper pads.
Below are a few of the samples I made.

Day 4 Sheena's new birdie stamps

Last sample today using Sheena's new stamps.
Our Sheena will be on Create and Craft at 11am,4pm and 7pm, I will be working but the IPad  will be set up  so I don't miss anything. cannot wait to see what Sheena an my fellow Inkoids have made with this stamps.

This time I choose to paper piece, the bird stamps work very well with this method. Another 3D sample , just using a plain Kraft paper bag. The Kraft card behind the bird was embossed using one of Sheena's embossing folders. The papers were of course Lili of the Valley and yes I've nearly got all the pads watching Create and Craft yesterday confirmed that..........

That's all for today as I'm busy making samples for tomorrow as I'm demoing at Colemans Warehouse  Rushden.  And just for a bit of a change  I'm  showing Sizzix dies !

Sheena's birdie stamps Day 3

Morning, feels like afternoon , had another early start today. Granddaughter is here today only Aunty Heather is looking after her.............
At least I could get started on the day to day jobs, then off to work, but need a quick visit to our local craft warehouse first.

This was a bit of an experiment, I had some tin boxes and wanted to decorate them.
First I painted it with white acrylic then sponged with the silks. The detail was added using the edge of the sponge.
I stamped and embossed the kingfisher onto white card then painted with a mixture of Distress inks and silks. The kingfisher was cut out the glued down onto the tin. To prevent the paint being scratched off I sprayed a couple of coats of spray and shine on top.

It was great fun experimenting , I really love the texture sponging over paint gave. You can actually see the shimmer from the silks in this picture .

Day 2 Sheena's new stamps

Here is the second piece I did for Sheena's show ,that's on this Friday on Create and Craft.

The frame was from Every Crafts a Pound, who are at most of the craft shows around the country.
I embossed some pieces of black card and  then cut them up into small squares . Then randomly glued  them on to the frame, once  dry I applied some gilding wax. The bird was stamped and embossed and then painted with Distress inks mixed with Ice Silk. The flowers and leaves were just painted with Silks. Then centre panel ,  a piece of cream card was inked with Brushed Corduroy then stamped  using the wording with second generation ink. Then finally with  Black Onyx Versafine in the middle.
Think when I get time, I might have to repeat this, maybe in different colours, to have in my craft room.

Sheena's new bird stamps

Our Sheena is on the telly on Friday at  11am , 4pm and 7pm on Create and Craft. With some brand new stamps. I have been waiting for one of the sets  for a very long time, I love Kingfishers, so I was very happy to be making these samples. I was also taken out of my comfort zone as my fellow Inkoids and I  were asked to make some 3D items. I do have a lot of items in my craft stash for altering, so now was the time to get them out.
Over the next four days I show what I made, but don't forget  to check out the other Inkoids  bogs for more ideas, there is a link on  Sheena's website www.sheena.tv.

I painted over the frame with white gesso then sponged over the top with  a mixture of two different colour silks. After drying I added some guilding  wax around the edge.
The birds were stamped and embossed then painted with a mixture of Distress inks and the Ice Silk.
I did the same with the branch and leaves, those stamps came from Sheena's previous ranges.
The wording , also in the new sets was stamped and embossed in gold on to some cream card, I tore around the edge and then inked.
These baby birds are really cute, take a  closer look at there facial expressions , I bet you will smile.......
