Girl on a Swing

Really looking forward to tomorrow, demo day at Colemans warehouse in Rushden. Jayne Nestorenko will be there as well as John Glossop with whom I used to work with at Creative Expressions. It will be nice to have a good wonder around and see what goodies I can buy.
There are a few things I need.....but we shall see what I come home with.
Today's card I again chose the papers first and then chose Copic colours to match.
The Spellbinders die did not quite fit so I cut two and expanded the design by slicing two together. The papers and ribbon were from American Crafts.
Going to play with stamps from Card-io tomorrow,to work on my demos for next weekend at Exel.Something a bit different for me but Wendy says I can put my twist on them.

Back to watching my favourite trilogy The Lord of the Rings, see you tomorrow if you're going to Colemans.

Farm boy

This was the first card I made after receiving Jayne's new stamps.I had an idea for it and wanted to play with my new Memory box die.
I made the background with Distress ink.Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint and then cut out 4 pieces of pearlescent silver card with my new die. I wanted to give the effect of like chicken wire, which would be found on a farm.
The boy and rabbit I stamped with Memento and coloured with Copics and then a Spellbinders label to cut the topper. The flower was Spellbinders, the leaves Memory box and the swirl was a Marianne.
Jayne had two shows on Create and Craft in the end,I think it was due to the very quick sell out of the Tattered Lace Dies. Hope everybody who brought them enjoys them as much as I did.
Hoping to play with them some more but at the moment I working on a project for an all day workshop I have at J & C Creations next month.
So glad it's the Easter weekend more time to play.
Happy Crafting.

Girls on a bench

Here is a card made with another of Jayne's new stamps. All the range will be on Create and Craft tomorrow at 11am. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the other design team members have made.
It seems a long time since Jayne has been on our screens but I know she has been working hard on these stamp designs and others. For those who know of the Colemans warehouse in Rushden,Northants, Jayne will be demoing there from 10am 'till 4pm on Saturday.
The Girls on a bench I coloured using Copics and used a Spellbinders die to cut the topper. The lattice effect in the background was made using some die-cut A4 lattice sheets from Anna-Marie designs, which I glued to some patterned paper.  The flower and leaves came from more Spellbinders dies. With this card I chose the patterned paper first and then the copics to match,it does make it a little easier to get a good effect.

If you watched the POD on Ideal World did you see my cards?
Yes that's my news,Stephanie and Nancy have asked me to be on their team to make samples for the Tattered Lace Shows. How excited I'm I, and how good have I been keeping a secret.
You know how I love dies, these have been lovely to play with in the short time I have had. I've so many ideas for them but ran out of time.

Here's one of the cards I made,I have a couple more photos but the first samples I made I forgot to take pictures, silly me. Many of you will probably spot them on the shows but it doesn't look like there will be many shows tomorrow the rate the dies are selling.

Car Wash

Our Jayne Nestorenko is back on C&C on Wednesday at 11am with some new stamps.I have had the pleasure of making some samples for the show,so guess what will be on my blog for the next few days. This set is called Car Wash, great for Father's day or a  birthday card.

I made this with my favourite Distress inks,Walnut Stain and with a damp paint brush pulled out the colour from the stamped image.
The papers were a purchase from the Glasgow show, from Lily of the Valley. They have some great new 6x6 paper pads, two are quite vintage looking. You will see some other cards made with these papers very soon.
Other news, I have just spent  some enjoyable days at the NEC with Sharon from Glitter Magic, ignoring the weather of course.
Great to meet some old friends and regulars to the show,I got The Look a few times. Customers trying to work out why I was on a different stand, well that's the thing with being freelance it gives you the opportunity to work with lots of different companies.
If you're going to Exel in April I will be demonstrating for another company, Card-io.I've known Wendy and Martin for many years, so I'm really looking forward to working with them.
I'm still not telling  whom I shall be regularly working with until tomorrow, sorry about that.
Well hopefully my studio will now have warmed up now, it seems ages since I've played.

In the Garden

This card was again made for Kay(Hougie) using a card design from her new book. The wall was made using an embossing folder from Creative Expressions, which I inked with Perfect Medium then placed cardstock inside and put through my Calibur.I then covered with gold embossing powder and heated. To remove the bright white look I used Distress inks Pumice Stone and Brushed Corduroy.
The railings were made from a Spellbinders die, then attached to acetate. The trees and flowers are from two Creative Expressions stamp plates designed by Sheena.
I love cards with dimension and or layers but to give or post it will  need a box as it does not easily collapse down.
Really enjoyed my day today, alot of work organised, can't wait to tell you what I'm going to be doing.I will have to keep you waiting a bit longer though.

Butterfly

Something a bit different today,Kay(Hougie) asked me to make some samples for the Book 3 which was launched at Farnborough this month.
This one I was really pleased with, the base card for this design is in the book,so here's what I used to decorate it. My favourite Distress ink Brushed Corduroy and some stamps from Creative Expressions.
I added some detail to the flower and butterfly with a Quicky glue pen and Mega flakes from Indigo Blu.
The lettering was from American Crafts, which was white so I inked up again with the Distress ink. The two butterflies on the back panel I stamped and inked around the edge and then attached to some fragment pieces from Ranger.
Looking forward to tomorrow's trip,I'm excited and nervous but I still can't say where I'm going and who I'm going to see.
You'll have to wait and see.
Happy Crafting.

Peace,Stillness,Calm

Another card using my favourite Distress Ink colour Brushed Corduroy.I love the look of this colour with the Gothic arches. The railings were embossed using a Dark Bronze powder from Creative Expressions. The corners I did the same but cut them out and mounted them on with 3D foam.
For the background I used the crackle stamp in the same way.
Busy weekend to come with samples to make and as you can see from the right-handside of my blog  I'm now teaching workshops in Kent at J&C Creations Warehouse. To see the courses I'm teaching click on the link, the first will be in April.
There are several other projects for me in coming months, one is very exciting indeed. Can't say any more at the moment,so please keep on eye on my blog.

Distressed Oak

I started off this card by cutting a circle aperture in a piece of scrap paper. Laid this over the white card and inked over the circle with Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint Distress ink,to give sky and grass.Using Walnut Stain Distress Marker I inked and stamped the Oak through the aperture.
After adding the wording I draw 2 lines free hand around the edge.
I managed to see Sheena's show tonight, missed it as I was in Glasgow. It was great to see what the other DT members had made with this collection of stamps.

Stillness

Here's another card using Sheena's new stamps and Distress Inks.I covered the background with ink and then spritzed and flicked water, left for a couple of seconds and then dabbed dry with kitchen roll.
Using Versafine I stamped the image towards one side of the card. Over stamped the wrought iron fence in the same ink but the corners I embossed to lift them above the other stamped images.
The wording I inked and stamped separately on white card but edged in Black Soot. Then added to the card with 3D foam.
Working hard on some new projects, results to be shown very soon, as soon as I get the go ahead to post here.
Happy Crafting.

The Oak

Just had the word,we can now post samples from Sheena's show, which is on this Friday on C&C. I believe the shows are on at 11am and 7pm.
I love nature stamps, so this is my favourite set of the new ones, hope you love them as I do.
The background was created by using the wrinkle free distress technique.I laid down stripes of Distress ink onto my craft sheet, sprayed with water until droplets appear. Then I placed a piece of white cardstock on top allowing the ink to be absorbed.Once dry I stamped the tree in black ink and embossed.
Tomorrow I'm off to Glasgow with Sharon from Glitter Magic,I've worked with Sharon before but this will be the first time in Glasgow. If your going to the show at the SECC please come and say hello.
