Countdown to Sheena's next show has begun as some of the design team's work is being shown on Sheena's blog. To follow that here is another of my samples
The background was made by using Tea Dye Distress Ink,Jet Black Archival and a Luminart Dabber, a different stamp for each colouring medium. An unusual mix of colours for me but I liked the way it turned out.The central topper was made by stamping the island image onto white card and then die-cutting this piece.I inked round the edge with the Tea Dye and then matted this piece onto black card.
I have a break now from shows until the 18th August but that doesn't mean I'm not going to be busy.I will be doing an all day workshop 10am - 4pm on 4th August at the Costa Coffee in Rushden.Cost is £25.00, the kit and use of tools is included. Details of the project I will post later but if you are interested or need more information let me know by e-mail karenlines@btopenworld.com

Doncaster Show
Well we are all set up and ready for the show tomorrow, rather large stand for the two of us,if it's like last year I won't see Kay for customers for most of the day.
I manage to connect to the internet but not for long so can't stay on too long. Will try and post some photos tomorrow but here is another of the cards I made for Sheena.
I love this card,it's very simple to do.The main image was stamped on Kraft card(Anna Marie Designs, they are at the Doncaster show)otherwise know as leather card ? with clear ink then I used Cosmic Shimmer black embossing powder. The crochet ribbon came from Creative Expressions and the paper was from my stash, doesn't really show but it is a poinsettia pattern on it.
Will try and sign on again tomorrow and let you know how the show is going.

Silhouette Grasses
This is the second set of stamps from Sheena Douglass, which will also be shown for the first time on C & C on the 18th July. These are very useful stamps, for stamping over background effects, applying ink and paint too and making backgrounds for cards.
To make the background I applied several Luminarte dabbers to a craft sheet and misted them with water. Then placed the Centura pearl cardstock on top to lift off the colour.Once dry I stamped on top with an clear embossing ink, added white embossing powder and then heated.Repeating the stamping until the picture was finished.

There may be a break in my posting again as I'm at the Doncaster show with Kay.If I have internet access I will show some more cards made with Sheena's stamps.

Silhouette Highlands
Here's a peek at Sheena's new stamp set which is due to be shown on Wednesday 18th July 8am & 12noon on Create and Craft.
This card was made using Rusty Hinge and Wild Honey Distress Ink and the silhouette images were stamped with Jet Black Archival. The squares are 4cm in size and once inked were mounted using foam squares.
Over the next week I'll hopefully show you more examples from next weeks show.

With Love
Well this is the last of the samples I made for Jayne Nestorenko. This was actually the first one I made,I chose some papers from my stash which were actually designed for a Wedding Album. Both the colour and the theme seemed to be right for this stamped image.I stamped using Brushed Corduroy Distress ink and used a damp brush to pull out the colour. This then I die-cut using labels eight. The edge of the middle strip was made using the Classic triple Scallop and the greeting was stamped on a large label.
I'm sorry to leave on a sad note but I've just heard a friend and fellow crafter has just died.Robert of Once Upon A Stamp has died, I presume today.I'll miss his wicked sense of humour, his laughter and my hugs from him when we met at shows. My deepest sympathy goes to Gordon and his family.

Leather Card ?
Ok just a quicky post tonight, must get some sleep as I'm leaving for Newbury in the morning with Kay.
This card was a favourite at Jayne Nestorenko's workshop on Sunday.I wasn't sure on it but I do like using the Kraft card. They thought it looked like leather. The cardstock came from Anna Marie Designs who attend most of the shows around the country.
Yes I did stitch around the edge with some pink DMC cotton, left from my cross stitch days.To make it easier I used a Tim Holtz ruler and pierced though at regular intervals.
The image was stamped with a Perfect Medium pad and then use a black embossing powder.I know I like to stamp the images and cut them out but this was possibly slightly more than I intended to do.The flowers and leaves came from the accessories set.
Bye for now.

Kyoto Gardens
I used Faded Jeans to stamp the image, then pulled out the colour with a damp brush. Then embossed the whole piece with clear embossing powder,a couple of layers to give a gloss finish.I equally divided the tile up and stuck them down on a piece of blue card leaving a small gap between each piece.
The background was stamped with clear embossing powder using the flower from the accessories set.
Of course as you know I can't make a card without using Spellbinders somewhere, so this time a used Aster and Floral Flourishes.
This week has been busy so far with my DT work and playing with some brand new Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies,I'm loving these, very pretty.I will show the cards in the very near future.
