"Fabulous" card

ES-016 Cabbage Roses
S4-408 Rounded Squares

This the fourth card made for Spellbinders show, this time using the Cabbage Rose  M-Bossabilities. I did manage to use both sides of this folder. The red base was made by inking the folder a Perfect Medium pad placing in some white card and then putting through the Calibur. The ink had
transferred to the debossed side so I covered it with gold embossing powder and heated.
Over the top of this I used Barn Door Distress ink, this really made the gold embossing pop. Just to make sure there was no ink on the embossing I wiped over with a piece of kitchen roll.
Using the Rounded Squares I cut some gold pearlescent card and a plain black card. The gold I embossed using the other side of the folder, the black was stamped with the greeting. Just to add a few flowers I embossed the the large cabbage roses and cut three out.
To finish the card I added the black crushed ribbon and a Dazzler.
If you go to John's website The Gentleman Crafter, he is also putting cards on his blog he made for the show.

Celtic Knot

This is one of my favourite 3D M-Bossabilities from this months launch, the Celtic Knot E3D-012.
It called out to use the waxes on it, the metallic colours.
So after embossing , it was time to get messy fingers and apply each colour in turn. Once apply I used a piece of rag just to buff it up and make it really shine.
The tag with the greeting came from Tile Works S5-193, to which I added some metallic brads from Creative Expressions.
This folder would be great for wedding cards as it has the never ending knot, embossing some white pearlescent card . Add some ribbon, dazzles and decorative pins would be all you need.
Happy Crafting.

Black and Gold.

Holiday over, washing done, must stop ignoring the ironing but I'm back in my craft studio. The next project is already under way, some new stamps from Sheena, that's all I can say.
Enjoying watching John Bloodworth and Nancy Watt on Create and Craft demonstrating the Spellbinders dies. I'm glad everybody loved my robot card made with the Tile works die, I did have to go and buy the Cogs die at Colemans Warehouse this weekend, just to finish my idea I mentioned in my last post.

For today's card I used
S5-201 Curved Borders Two
S4-407 Labels Thirty-Two
S5-189 Majestic Labels Twenty-Five
Foliage Two

Today's card from the Spellbinders world launch includes 3 dies from the show and one from my growing collection.
The base of the card was made by using a double-sided adhesive sheet. I stuck one side to a white piece of card, the other side was covered in gilding flakes.
The fence was made by using Curved Borders Two. The flower stems were also made using this die.
I die-cut three Labels Thirty- Two and embossed them, with a Quicky Glue pen I followed the embossed line, waited for it to go clear then added Gilding flakes. The top part of the flower was made from making a spiral flower from a die-cut circle.
The extra die I used was foliage 2 to add some leaves to the picture.
Using the centre die of  Majestic Labels Twenty-Five, I stamped the greeting using gold embossing powder. Then again used Quicky glue pen and gilding flakes on the decorative edge.
I'll  post another card tomorrow, but for now

Last day in the Lake District

Home tomorrow, a four hour journey but it will be good to be home. Saying that I did enjoy my week   in the Lakes , the weather was good the only time we saw rain was either in the chalet or travelling to our venue for the day. So really we didn't see much at all, no umbrellas or raincoats needed here.
I found the local craft shops of course, there's a great one in Penrith, Penrith Crafts in St Andrews church yard. Also an art shop in Cockermouth along the Main Street near the bridge.
As we were away I didn't see much of  Create and Craft's Viva Craft Vegas, I did catch our John Bloodworth ( thanks for the lovely comments ) showing the brand new Spellbinders dies. These dies were being launched at the CHA Summer 2013 show. I was very lucky to be given the chance to play with these dies and make samples for John to then show my ideas for them on TV. As usual I would have liked more time, but I did make a sample for nearly every die and embossing folder. I also got the chance to play with the new waxes from Creative Expressions, these have been on my to do list for a while, and of course I love them.
This will be the first showing of the cards I made as I had to wait until after the launch, so I hope you like being able to see them a little closer, with a how too.

From the show I saw , I know this was a favourite. While deciding what to do with this die set, I laid the cut pieces down and moved them about until I saw an idea. This is where the robot appeared from, using all the dies in the set and the smallest one from labels thirty-three for his mouth.
All the pieces were cut and embossed as well as inked through to show the embossing using Weathered Wood Distress ink.
I embossed a pattern on the background using my Hougie Board and just added some punched circles to the corners. As I could use only the dies on the show  it stopped me from doing what I would have like to have done which was add some cogs to his belly area. Just to give a bit more mechanical look.
Do you like him ?  Think he needs a name........
Would be great for kids cards.
I will post the rest of the cards in the following days.

Hello from Penrith

Well that was an enjoyable first day of my holiday, we spent it shopping and exploring Penrith town centre. There is a food and drink festival on this weekend so there was plenty of  stands with samples to try and buy. We sat watching a band playing for an hour or so and then picked up a takeaway on the way back to our chalet.
Now I've got time to play as we watch a DVD left by the owners of the chalet, very good idea that. I must say the owners have thought of our every need.
Returning to the card I've posted, this was one of Joanne's favourites on the Tattered Lace show.
To achieve the effect, first die-cut the image using the release paper from some double-sided adhesive. Then attach one side of a square of adhesive sheet to some white card. Remove the other side to reveal the sticky layer, place the die-cut shape on top making sure it's well stuck down. Cover the whole piece in white glitter, shake off excess. Carefully remove the shape, then cover with black glitter, this will stick to the previously protected area.
Mount and add ribbon to finish the card.
To see what I have been recently working on watch Create and craft on Tuesday's Spellbinder shows.
I've been a really lucky girl as you will see.
Happy Crafting.

Summer Crafting

Home now after 4 days of Summer crafting, at least the weather hasn't changed now I'm back home.
The schedule for the four days went as follows;
Day 1 I travelled up to Stephanie Weightman's house and spent the day crafting with a group of lovely ladies. It was work before I get any comments, Nancy and I had the task of making samples for the next pick of the day which is on Ideal world , Tuesday night at 9pm. Ok I said it was work but it's always fun playing with new dies. I had already been sent a few of the dies to make samples but these I had never seen before, one of which I will have to buy.
The next morning we were all up bright and early to travel to  the racecourse, of course there had to be a traffic jam on the M18. I got a bit lost as this was the first time I had helped at the workshop not the usual setting up of a stand.
The workshop was brilliant, the ladies attending we're lovely, some I already knew as they regularly attend shows. Kathy, Diane and I looked after about 5 tables between us, but the ladies had full instructions , so we helped where we were needed.
The entertainment started with Stephanie, Nancy, Kathy, Mel, Diane and Jane doing their version of YMCA. That included costumes hats, face paint, moustaches and in Nancy's case a chest wig.
The ladies hd breaks for coffee, lunch and afternoon tea, this was the best we had strawberries and cream. Although is was very warm they had brought on large aircon units, great for a quick cooling off.
After the workshop I went downstairs to meet Mike on GlitzCraft with whom I was working with for the next two days. He was getting on ok, so I met up with an old friend of mine Jayne Nestorenko. This was Jayne's first show on her own, so I helped to set up the stand, poor Jayne had been held up on the motorway. At least we got finished before they closed the hall.
As to the two days of the show ,I was extremely happy that we were at the end near the open doors. Most of Saturday was a learning curve, these were new products to me. By the end of the show I was dying to have a play , so guess who brought some. Sorry I forgot to say GlitzCraft sell masks and a product called Glitter frosting. If your an impatient crafter the frosting dries very quickly and you don't need much, another plus point is it doesn't seep under the mask. Although it dries quickly you can blend the colours. The ladies loved Mike's demos which kept me very busy with sales.
Sorry for the long post so much to say, next is today's card,

Tattered lace with Nancy Watt is on tomorrow at 9pm on Ideal World, if you love flowers watch this show. Although saying that there are a lot of new and some quick sellers on the show. So be ready on the phone, Internet or App.
The poppies on this card I coloured with Distress inks Barn Door and Peeled Paint.
Hopefully a shorter post tomorrow, now back to work on something for the CHA shows on Create and Craft , I wonder what that could be!!!!!!!!!

Summer Crafting

Well it definitely feels like summer now......... Missed some of it though as I was working at the weekend. I was at the Newbury show, as the venue is at the race course there was a lot of glass windows so it added to the heat in the building.
I also missed the Murray match , we were packing up and driving back at the time. Wished I could of seen it...........
I'm now on countdown to  the Summer Crafting event, leaving for Stephanie Weightman's on Thursday morning. This is to help with prep, as I am one of the crafters helping at the workshop.
Saturday  and Sunday I will be on very different stand , Glitz Craft, working with Leona's Dad Mike.
Leona is at another show, so they needed some help and just happened to have my details.
I really wanted to go to the show, there are a great variety of companies attending, for me it's a good show to meet up with.lot of friends.
As well as packing and nails to be done, I now find I've got to get new tyres for the car. Fitting this in  between making samples for two shows which will be on Create and Craft in the very near future.
So busy, busy, busy, but I would'nt have it any other way.
The card sample was for the Christmas Tattered Lace show. I found the stamen die from the poinsettia set fitted into the sections of the card I embossed using one of Sue Wilson's folders.
I made up four poinsettias for the middle of the card and used one of the sections of the oval die to highlight the words.
I will post the cards I'm working on at this moment in time as soon as I get the go ahead. Both shows will be on C&C very soon, I'm excited to see people's reaction to these, hope you have your pennies ready.

Look out Newbury

Just about to leave for Newbury, gorgeous weather but I hope it's not too hot.Two day show this time, plenty of stands...........I do not need to shop !!!!!!
I hope Jayne Nestorenko has a good show, a hot day today and she is doing Christmas but we all need to start making those cards sometime.
This was one of  the cards I made using my favourites Distress inks, an easy card to make. I used Brushed Corduroy to stamp the image and then used a damp brush to pull the colour out from the image, giving me shading. The Spellbinders label was also edged in ink. The background was also made using some more of Jayne's stamps. Using a post-it note die-cut to mask off the moon area before inking. The snowflake is made using one of Spellbinders Create-a-flake sets, inking through the die.
Well time to get in the van.

Jayne's Christmas

Just a quick post here to let you know that Jayne Nestorenko will be back on our TV screens on Create and Craft with some Christmas stamps. The show is on at 1pm repeated at 8pm which I hope they do as I will be setting up the stand with Kay at Newbury Race course during the day.
The stamps are lovely, clear for ease of stamping and very versatile. So many styles of stamping are covered with these designs.
Of course for this tree I used Spellbinders dies for the topper and the snowflake. I used Distress inks to colour then added some Aurora Crystal Glitter on top.
Hope you enjoy the show.

Pink and White

Back to a Tattered Lace Sample here, it was made using Christmas dies. The flower was made by multilayering the stamen die from the poinsettia set. The leaves are actually the larger of the poinsettia flowers cut in green and place beneath the flowers. I also used the Rose corner which was on a previous show to add a few swirls. The heart was the cartouche from the heart die, I added a few flowers to cover the pieces used to suspend the cartouche in the frame. Spellbinders still made an appearance , using the scalloped square as a mat.
Well better get back to work, enjoying playing with what came in that box yesterday.........
More cards tomorrow. Happy Crafting

Meeting my fellow Inkoid

Nice to be home from Portsmouth but I did have a great time. Such lovely friendly people, can't wait to visit again in the near future.
Yes, I did meet up with fellow Inkoid Pauline, her daughter's hair was a give away.......lilac.

Although it was very busy we did have time for a chat, the first of many I hope.......
On return home I found a parcel had tried to be delivered, so a visit to the post office was needed. Well it was a very large box containing.............I can't tell you that , not just yet but it's very nice and I found out there is more to come. Sorry about the tease, not.
Well you know what I'll be playing with this week, that's until Friday when Kay & I will be off to Newbury for the weekend show.
My Daughter  posted a photo of my Granddaughter on Facebook, it's such a lovely photo I thought you would like to see.

To finish ,here's today's card

This maybe the last Christmas card for a while but who knows. I used the Snowflake Pendant to cut an aperture then the piece cut out I placed on top twisting it around. The aperture piece I place on top of some black card as a contrast. The other dies were cut out and added on top, along with an adhesive black gem.
Until tomorrow Happy Crafting.
