Portsmouth Show

Having a leisurely morning before setting up for the Portsmouth show. Yesterday was fun helping on Kay's workshop, a great time was had by all. Even had a cooked pub lunch, no alcohol but plenty tea and coffee.

Here's another card I did for Create and craft for German TV , this is a good one for using all the buttons us crafters have stored.
The bauble is a Spellbinders die which I cut in white card, then gradually added the buttons 'till I filled all the spaces. The background was made using Kraft card which I embossed with the basket weave embossing folder from Creative Expressions.
I have a feeling I'll be doing this in other colour ways, at least this will use some of those buttons up.
Happy Crafting

Off to Portsmouth.

Just a quick post before I leave, suitcase is ready along with our lunchbox. Travelling down today to be ready for Kay's workshop tomorrow. Then Sunday is The Sincerely Yours Show, first time in Portsmouth. Looking forward to visiting a new area for us  and meeting new crafters. I really looking forward to meeting Pauline who is one of Sheena's new Inkoids.

This was one of the cards I did for Create and craft to go on HSE24, had fun with this , as the baubles were Christmas tags and the foliage was made from one part of the 2011 Christmas  Snowflake pendant. I really enjoy looking at the dies and seeing not just the obvious things. The string is Bakers Twine, and I embossed the baubles with Aurora Sparkle embossing powder, both are available from Creative Expressions.

German TV

It was very strange last night to watch a German shopping channel and see my cards on there. it would have been easier to watch if it played properly though. There was a new picture about every 20 seconds, but at least I saw them. Create and Craft asked me to make some samples using Spellbinders dies Dawn Bibby was taking on the HSE24 channel. No pressure, had to be made in less than 2 days and delivered to Ideal World, lucky I live pretty close. Saying that I love my dies as you know, so I had fun creating.
Been to see my Granddaughter today and she is doing fine, each day she seems to look more like her dad. She does have her Mum's ears but definitely her Dad's eyes.
Off to Portsmouth tomorrow ,Sincerely Yours show on Sunday but Kay has a workshop down there on the Friday. Looking forward to meeting one of the new Inkoids at the show, so I hope to get a photo as none of the Inkoids have met her before.
Also just finished a phonecall with more exciting news, can't say anything yet, this is why I love this job, you never know what is going to happen next.
Here' s two of the cards I made
for Create and Craft for the German show. Using the 2012 Heirloom Bauble. the upper card also uses the Layered Poinsettia and the 2011 Snowflake pendant. The lower using two pieces from the pendant set to cut the apertures.
Well I'm off to play ,I mean work again.
Happy Crafting.

Christmas Packaging

This one is for Kay, I've used my Hougie Board to make the box and a One Sheet Bag. All the instructions are in Hougie Book No 2 . I love these as they are a great platform for showing off stamps and dies and very easy to make.
For the decoration I've used the Christmas Tattered Lace dies, Winter Florals and Christmas Florals along with the Rose corner, the swirls are great on this.
The box is made from Kraft card, which you can get from Anna Marie designs, who happen to be at the Sincerely Yours show in Portsmouth this weekend. If I remember right the bag was made from 12x12 paper from Kaiser craft.
I think I'm going to play with my new Spellbinders Dies, yes I ordered them........loved the new snowflake one . They will fit quite nicely with the other dies I have, will have to find the empty cd cases to store them in . I'm still trying to keep my craft room tidy, could do with a Hoover but otherwise it's fine.
Have a Happy Crafting Day.

Winter Wishes

Well I've done it, I can at last post my photos from my IPad onto my blog. If I sat for long enough to think about it I would have done it earlier. So there's lots of cards to show,I've got a bit of a back log.
Last week was so busy with 3 trips to Ideal world for sample delivery, Sheena Douglass, then Tattered Lace  and then one for HSE24 Germany, how about that then !
The card above was made using one of the new Tattered Lace sets which has plenty of different leaves ,acorns and pinecones. I loved making this wreath ,it was easy to make ,just lots of die-cutting.That was easier to do because I've just brought the Artisan from Spellbinders, it's very handy because  the machine is that bit smaller. Not so many turns of the handle but with good overall pressure. It's handy for these Tattered Lace dies as they're smaller too.
The light tan card I embossed using Sue Wilson's A4 Basket-weave Embossing folder, love these folders as I don't have to do any matching up to extend the pattern as you do with the 5x7 and others.
I cut a circle in the same colour to which I added the die-cut wording, then added the leaves around it.
Cheating I know but at least I had a rounded wreath.
The acorns I cut out in 3 different colours, green for the leaves, tan for the base and cream for the acorn. Cut away the  unwanted area each time place on the green base. The same idea for the holly, giving it red berries. Be random when adding the other leaves and sprigs.
Well I was going to have a playtime to make some sample cards I can keep, would you believe after 9 years I don't have any cards to show for it only photos. That will now be after I make a few for Kay(Hougie) after a cheeky e-mail, good job she's a very good friend lol.
Happy crafting,more tomorrow.
